elmo
Tremble with fear at the progress of the Commissariat.... apologies for the awful photo :( Chocochip is done and work has started on the armour. bigted
Yikes, I'm a bit behind! I still have to strip two models (I ran out of dettol) and I need to spray my models. I've started putting the base colours on one guy, I'm trying a new technique (using several layers of extremely thinned down paint) and it's giving the model a really smooth paintjob. Here's where I'm at at the moment. http://i1380.photobucket.com/albums/ah161/James_Dulcich/IMG_1147_zpsxkazdouy.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/303554-the-commissariat-has-been-challenged/page/2/#findComment-3960999 Share on other sites
Father Mehman
You're getting great coverage with that technique, bigted. Keep it up! elmo
Good to see your progress bigted and that red will look great once it is all done and shaded. Here is my progress... again a terrible photo. I need my lightbox. The armour cam needs a little bit more work before I will be fully happy and there is still all the shading to do on it plus the gunmetal, lenses, detailing........ librisrouge
DAMN ELMO!!! Looking good and not taking you very long at all. I did not think I would win this little contest but I guess I'll just be satisfied with passing the finish line. Thankfully, it finally stopped raining today, so hopefully I can get them primed tomorrow and make some painting progress over the next few days. Brother Hadafix
The Commissariat needs a word, the ends of some of those guns are bent and should have been checked before adding primer. To much haste not enough discipline. bigted
Wow Elmo, they look great already, and it's only been two days! At the laborious rate I'm painting I don't stand a chance at beating you , luckily I don't have anything on after school for the first time since we started (well, I have an essay, but painting is far more important!) so I can hopefully get some painting done. libris, hopefully the weather clears up so you can get cracking, if it doesn't get any better soon maybe you could prime them by hand? I really like painting with watery paint, it looks far far better than just using paint straight out of the pot. elmo
Special issue, fire round corners rifles. unfortunately I did try to bend one back and it snapped off so I did not risk it with the rest :( The powersword has also been replaced with a chainsword for a similar reason... As I don't paint on weekends, that is your chance to catch up ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/303554-the-commissariat-has-been-challenged/page/2/#findComment-3961460 Share on other sites

bigted
Good progress elmo, looks like the rest of you need to catch up! If you have the guts to challenge the commissariat then you better give it your all The Catachan II has spent the last few days fighting the foul Xenos(writing a 2000 word essay on a really really bad Japanese novel) but hopefully we can make that up over the weekend! Elmo, those are looking fantastic! Father Mehman
Truthfully, a camouflage pattern BDU plus camouflage armour really didn't appeal to me. The pairing always tended to look too "busy". That was before this. You've really made them look nice and blew my preconceived notions away, Elmo! bigted
They're coming, they're coming. Damn Commissars, so pushy . I've nearly finished the first one and I'm doing the base colours on 4 others. I should be able to make a decent amount of progress over the weekend. WarriorFish
I wouldn't say "pushy", we prefer the term "motivational" :P Great work elmo, they're really coming together now :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/303554-the-commissariat-has-been-challenged/page/2/#findComment-3962489 Share on other sites

elmo
More the merrier but be warned, the Commissariat is close to completion... No pressure, just marking your place against the wall and loading another bolt in my bolt pistol ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/303554-the-commissariat-has-been-challenged/page/2/#findComment-3962519 Share on other sites
Reyner
Oh lord nothing like a bit of pressure ... I'm aiming to paint my Kasrkin in a British Army camo style - still debating on desert or woodland but desert is winning at the minute. elmo
DPM Temperate would work well. Which desert pattern are you thinking of? Reyner
Yeah I like the DPM Temperate scheme - I was thinking of going DPM but in the desert style or even the newer camo they use (guys in the back) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/303554-the-commissariat-has-been-challenged/page/2/#findComment-3962590 Share on other sites
