Thanks guys!

Black Out: If only I could paint faster... tongue.png I know we talked about gold details, but I did a test and it didnt really fit the bone, so instead I went for the steel effect.

Magic Man: Thanks brother, faces are probably my favorite part of any mini and I spend so much time working on them.

Just wanted to tell you guys progress will be a bit slow this week, Ive got 14 family members visiting because of my parents silver wedding (or however you call that in english). Im gonna do what I can, but it wont be much :P Hangovers to blame for that.

Also on another note, Ive been planning my purchase for the Iron Warriors, but Im trying to find a set of regular MK II pauldrons, Ive tried Ebay, bitzbox and bitsandkits, but no luck, so any suggestions would be welcome.

Been a bit quiet here for a while, sorry about that but every now and then I need a small hiatus from 40k to bring back my mojo.

Speaking of which, I still have 2 weeks unitl the 5th of April, so I can probably (maybe, I hope) finish that combat squad. Although I am a bit busy with a miniature from Scale75 (lovely sculpts, if you want to paint some neat miniatures go check them out). So, just so you know, I will being working again on that hawk lord, the 5 tactical marines and the Iron snake, I made a promise so it will happen.

And a curious thing happened, I stumbled an old DIY chapter I created about 2 - 3 years ago that I had hidden away in my archives on the PC and I think I might have to try giving it a go again. I have a captain miniature painted in the colour scheme (see below) and its always been a work of love. Also, Ive never seen that colour scheme done before, as far as I know.

I like monastic natures and this was supposed to be a Dark Angels or Imperial Fists succesor chapter with a monastic templar nature. Like a mix of DA and BA, kinda.

Or you know... start a Death Korps regiment...

So, finishing the metal work on the Hawk Lord, then I will just have to add a few small details like chapter badge and such.

And Im happy to hear the rumours about GW changing all the finecast into plastic kits, beacuse I really... really... REALLY hate finecast. While the details a great the amount of airbubbles and damaged done to the mini is unbearable.

So, Ive been dedicating most of my time on the 4 remaining members of the squad, hoping I can finish it. Which means Ive set the Hawk Lord aside until Im done (and the Iron Snake too). But since its been a while since Ive posted any pictures how about we take a walk down memory lane with some of my old work:

Here are 2 from a 10 man guardians of the covenant squad I worked on, I never got anywhere with the army I had planned which is sad but I still take great joy in looking at it (and a bit sad, because every failed project is a stab in the heart of my morale).

Looking good Magnus! I've yet to see a model that that bald head doesn't look good on.

Keep up the good work. Any word on your Iron Warriors?

Dallo

Nothing yet on the IVth legion front. I want to finish the combat squad, the Hawk Lord, the Iron Snake and "Fix It" Sam from scale75 before beginning anything new. Im still a bit on the edge about Iron Warriors mostly due to FWs prices, I hope its try GW will be releasing plastic HH kits. I was looking at the Siege of Vraks and thinking the Red Hunters look cool. Anyways its still all in thought process.

And yes, that bald head looks great on anyone.

By the All-mighty Emperor, as OP I am reanimating this thread.

So, while Im waiting for those MK IV marines from GW so I can start my Iron Warriors 77th Grand Battalion, I will be working on some marines from random chapters to practice a few colours (black and white in particular), my freehanding and such and also to entertain myself a bit. I owe brother Dallo a Iron Snake, I believe, I have the marine standing on my work desk ready to be primed and painted.

Now, apart from that Iron Snake, I also have a marine Im preparing to paint in the colours of the following chapter:

GUARDIANS OF CELERES

NOTE: I just discovered this chapter, they have a nice badge, green armour (which is also one of my painting banes) and white pauldrons, so a nice mixture of paint. I will be doing one of these instead of the Black Consul.

Glad to see you're still in the land of the living. I'd forgotten about that Iron Snake. I'll be looking forward to what you produce. Good luck with your Iron Warriors. Have you got any fluff sorted for them yet?

Well I have been reading about the Battle of Paramar and Kyr Vhalen, I think its an interesting battle and hes an interesting character. So I was thinking about creating a force representing the 77th Grand Battalion defending Paramar, so artillery, infantry and heavy weapons and some mechanicus allies and Imperial Army to represent the forces that have been stationed with the 77th Grand Battalion, I will be using DKoK grenadiers for these guys because the skull helmets and heavy armour makes them fit in nicely with the Iron Warriors.

Anyways, thats one plan. The other was a mechanised infantry force during the battle of Tallarn, but since Im more inclined to making loyalist forces its not really something that calls to me.

Although, I will be moving abroad, to Norway, for 4 months in either November or March (It depends on wether the course I will be taking will have any available spots in November), so depending on my financial standing I might have to start a smaller, 40k chapter project.

Buuuump! Magnus! I too have returned to the land of the living, how goes it?

Man, so many new post on the WIP forum I just loose track of the threads tongue.png

Man I haven't been in here since August! And don't really have any updates, but I'm planning something for late November - early December so stay tuned biggrin.png In the meantime I still have a veteran sergent miniature to paint, so if inspiration strikes me I will get to him. But man I hate finecast.
