NightGlow
I recall one of the Horus Heresy books saying that the Palatine Blades colored parts of their armor platinum. I've been trying to make a platinum-ish color, or at least a silvery white without success. Do y'all have any advise on the matter? Kaedes Nex
I have literally never heard of or seen what a white colored wash can do. Would anyone happen to have images? I've been layering with Runefang Steel. It makes it nearly impossible to highlight, but when the light catches the metal it turns a blinding white. That's pretty platinum, right? Father Mehman
I don't happen to have any images but I've used white washes before for force weapons. It gives it a hazy effect. For metal, it'll give it a really good sheen. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/303682-making-platinum/#findComment-3955904 Share on other sites
MedPig
I think Reaper makes a color called "Platinum". Check around. You can always shade it with thinned down Nuln, or Blue, depending where you want it to go. I don't use it much, but if you are using Mithril Silver, and need a lighter highlight color than THAT, use the Platinum. Bryan Blaire
Another thing you could possibly do is take some Runefang Steel/Mithril Silver and add a drop or two of white, then mix in some iridescent medium (the more you mix in, the more reflective flakes it will have, but the thinner the color pigments will be).
