Consul Rules Published

Sorry if this been answered, but am I reading it correctly that for one purchase of 15pts, all battle-automata in the Praevian's unit get sonic shriekers?

Side note, how do you think a Praevian, Delegatus and Diabolist would team up in terms of usability?

Well they can't all go in the same unit unfortunately so there's that. I think the delegatus is a god send for word bearers (no pun intended lol) because they need so many HQ choices. It keeps them cheap and cheerful if you don't want to take Erebus.

Dark channeling might be useful on the Castellax but I need to re read the effects again.

Ok just looking at the praevan :

Can he and his retinue join other units? Or does it then become a seperate units in itself?

Looking at ec, they can pick furious charge instead of legion rules (crusader) and then pay 15pts to upgrade them with sonic shriekers.

This would mean they are at i5 first turn maiming quite a lot on the first smash..maybe it's another unit to take into account for ec if that's the case...

So I'm looking at the iron warriors guy and his fluff is intriguing. Has anyone heard of the group he's with? The group he's with seems to be with the group that forgeworld described as a break away from the iron warriors legion.

I think it's a warrior lodge or possibly a specific grand company.

The Apolakron, or 'Brotherhood of Steel' is a sub-division of the larger Dodekatheon (a competitive body within the Legion which existed to test new wargear designs, strategies and tactical prowess) which is devoted to the maintenance, design & construction of Battle-Automata. I'd assume all Consul-Praevians of the Iron Warriors are drawn from this division of the Legion - hence why Narik was adopted into the formation.

I lol'd at brotherhood of steel. That should be a Fallout reference haha

They wear power armor too and are a disgruntled bunch much like the IWs.

They love their tech as well. They seem like some fun people to be around.

Well how it works is that you are taking a unit of automota(either Castellax or Vorax) and then putting the Praevian in that unit.

So unfortunately it can't join anything else because it is already a unit with an attached IC.

Ahh I see ok. Not a bodyguard unit as such.

They couldn't flank, but stuck him and 4 castellex in a kharbydis backfield could do some serious damage. You'd have to make him a bit of a boss though as ec have to challenge.

I know i5 isn't exactly game changing, but it could help a weaker legion if used correctly.

Yeah that is true..I re read the rule for that one, As I stuck fexs into Pods, even then..

So I guess it's walking down the field with 3/4 castellax, or possibly outflank if you have that rule.

They cannot run though, so it will be a slow plodding advance. Raining down hails of mauler bolter rounds

No they can't. The rule says "when dealing with Castellex with Legiones Astartes rule there are the following exceptions and additions" or something like that. If they take Furious charge, they don't have Legiones Astartes and therefore the addition for Emperor's children doesn't work.
