Acebaur
So while I do kind of like the models, I'm not willing to shell out 80+ bucks for a unit that I'm not going to run in all my lists. I was thinking of making some custom centurions using Terminators. Since I have extra of the AoBR marines I was going to use those as the basis. My plan is to get some 50mm bases and put two termies on each base to represent each of the two wounds. I will magnetize their feet and arms so they can be removed as the unit takes wounds and also put back onto 40mm bases to use as regular TDA if I need to. I plan to run them with Grav-cannons and hurricane bolters. To represent the grav cannons I think these will do nicely http://maxmini.eu/conversion-bits/ballistic-weapons/displacement-cannons-guns-bits And to represent the Hurricanes I think the storm bolters should be fine. The trouble I'm having is deciding how to put these weapons on the mini's. The problem I think is the powerfists. Dev Cents don't have PW's and there really aren't any TDA left hands that are readily available and in larger quantities. I thought about just cutting off some of the SB's and using that hand and have a SB and a GC each on one of the two TDA per base. But I thought it would be cool to be double wielding big guns Anyone have any suggestions? Grotsmasha
For TDA left hands, I'd use the AoBR Sgt sword arm. I'd also look at the height, and raise them to Centurion level. Cheers, Jono Ah yeah I forgot they'd be smaller. Wouldn't want to be accused to modeling for advantage. Alternatively I could just use a template like Infinity does so if there is a question about height I can just whip that out for reference. Kierdale
One idea that just came to mind for the left hands is that the original TDA with cyclone missile launchers had a targeter built into their left gauntlets. You could do something similar with the powerfist left hands. Add lenses and wire to explain the bulk of the fist as containing a targeter. I plan to use it on the Sgt to represent the Omniscope. Well I ordered the Max Mini Displacement cannons and my LGS is grabbing me some 50mm bases. So, I'm hopefully just a week or two away from starting this conversion in earnest. I've prepped the AoBr TDA that I'll be using. http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k48/Acebaur/40K/20150220_231934_zpsdptnph63.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/303703-custom-centurions-advice-needed/#findComment-3957689 Share on other sites
