Enjoy! Despite my griping about how it's been advertised, it's a superb book regardless of how long it is! Very, very good.

Did you buy it at the Weekender? I'm excited! And picked up Straken too (eBook) for the Service Stud...

If only you got them for physical purchases :P

I couldn't make it to the Weekender but luckily for me, a friend was going so he picked up Ironclad, Blades of the Traitor and The Eagle's Talon/Iron Corpses for me.

I really enjoyed Straken - as an old-school Guard player from many moons ago, any book with Colonel Straken, Sly Marbo and Nork Deddog in it is automatically a winner as far as I'm concerned! smile.png

How many studs have you got now? Are you up to 6 yet?

Definitely a lucky boy! Great to see I've got stuff to look forward to!

I've not yet bought the Advent Calender collection... so I'm only on three! Hoping I'll get there... Have you done it?

Ooh, not long left to get the last three! I've hit six, yeah. Helped that BL were allowing purchases at last year's Weekender count, so I filled up pretty quickly there.

It's going to be interesting to see what happens once we hit April. Word is that the scheme will start again from scratch, but I've not heard anything confirmed...

Halfway through it, and it's predictably brutal in places.

Loving the intrigue bits too, and I'm guessing the embossed daemonettes on the cover offer a clue, and link back to the Angel Exterminatus and their journey through the black hole. Merely speculating though, no spoilers

Sorry for the Threadomancy.

I just received Tallarn: Ironclad and Tallarn: Executioner in the post from BL.

Which one is set first?

You don't have to read them in any specific order, but chronologically, Ironclad takes place after Executioner.

In fact, if you want to read/listen to everything about Tallarn, this is the chronological order (though again, the stories are quite independent):

1. Black Oculus (link between Angel Exterminatus and Tallarn: Executioner)

2. Tallarn: Executioner (opening shots)

3. The Eagles Talon

4. Iron Corpses

5. Tallarn: Ironclad

6. Tallarn: Witness (very short story set at the end of the campaign)

Vanus assassin was cool. AL operatives were cool. Horus emmissary was great. But still wonna know what the heck happened to the Golden Fleet later on?

And why the fleet admiral (rogue trader) decided to shoot every side - clear the atmosphere and simply leave? Any ideas?
