I need all the encouragement I can get. I have two goals in the next three months. One is to completely paint this army. And the other is make my wife proud and quit smoking cigarettes. I hope both are attainable.

Soak, scrub, soak, scrub, rinse, repeat.

Guess you've got two BIG challenges over the next couple of months then.

Main thing with any challenge is have defined goals (small steps to work towards).

Painting wise crack on with the prep, even if it's just sticking everything in to soak now. The longer they're in to soak the easier it will be to scrub the paint off.

Smoking wise rather than setting a date to stop smoking from just bite the bullet and aim to be smoke free for the next 48 hours. Check in with us and then aim for another 48 hours smoke free. Get your wife involved in the giving up. Having encouragement from multiple sources helps a lot!!!

Smoking is a habit that you will associate with certain situations so watch out for those triggers. If it's having a beer with mates you may need to talk to them and set out you don't want to smoke. If your in the same boat get them to agree not to offer you a smoke or smoke away from you if they want to smoke. It's tricky but worth thinking a bit more indepth about.

Also work out how much your saving and put that money to one side. Treat yourself and your wife to a treat every now and again with that money you've saved.

Every time you fancy a smoke do some painting. And every time you don't buy a pack put the money in a jar (it will add up).

Also use the ETL as a way of keeping your motivation up. I would also rotate what you are painting e.g. squad, tank, squad, character, squad, tank, walker etc., as this will keep things fresh.

So gentlemen,

I need to start taking photos of my progress lately. I have added some new and repaired some of my sentinels. And I have begun to strip some of my tanks, and reading my infantry. As I get time I will take pictures. I think that tonight would be a good possibility.

I want to know what you all think of some of my work.

I have to upload the photos but I took a huge undertaking this year. I have stripped all of my tanks. I have over fifty. Sixteen of them are being done over as we speak. I'm going to continue this post following with pictures along the way. I hope it will be worth it.

The Motorpool:

11 Chimeras

1 Forgeworld Hydra

3 Wyverns

3 Forgeworld Medusas (awaiting enclosed crew compartments)

2 Manticores

2 Hellhounds

2 Devil Dogs

9 Sentinels

3 Vendettas

1 Stormlord

18 Leman Russes

1 Laser Destroyer (To be built and converted)

I have a lot of work ahead of me. I can't wait to complete it.

So I am slowly piecing my army back together. I currently have 6 sentinels. 3 with autocannons and 3 with lascannons. I also have 3 unassembled kits. I pose the question of how to arm the 3 new kits. Do I go with either more lascannons more autocannons or something different. I thought about plasma cannons, missile launchers, multilasers. I'm torn. I do play a variety of opponents. So I like to field plenty of options. Any advice. I also do not like to magnetize. So I'm looking for one set up. Suggestions.

What are you lacking in your current army? If you need more Anti-Tank, go for Lascannons. Hordes got you down? Missile Launchers are your friends. Elite infantry getting you down? Plasma Cannon them to dust!

Personally, I'd go with Multi-lasers for their versatility and aesthetic. Mainly aesthetics, though. I'm not really the person the ask :sad.:.

I plan on using the sentinels more in my list. I run infantry heavy lists with lots of av 12 armour so I'm thinking I could use more of everything. I have tons of models I have at least one of every unit in the guard codex except for rough riders so everything is there. I just don't know what's more annoying to an opponent.
If I was to I would want to go back and magnetize them all however several of my others are the old metal Armageddon pattern sentinels. I like the idea of options but I don't know if I want to go through the trouble

I don't think it'd be a big chore to magnetise the Sentinels, and considering you have a fair few and they can have plenty of options I think it'd be worth it. Otherwise with the options you have already I'd say multilasers - cheap but with three shots each they can do a respectable job against light armour. Plus they allow for amusing events such as instant deathing Farseers

Gentlemen,

The time has come to refresh and renew the forces of Armageddon. The times have changed although the battle is still being fought throughout the galaxy. The forces of Armageddon are fast approaching readiness they just need some TLC. I'm going to prepare a list of strengths. Just need to push through and complete them.

I've been on a hiatus now for a while. My wife had pulled me from duties at the barracks. She blest me with a bouncing baby girl. My daughter is now almost nine months old. I'm getting the itch to push forward with my army as 8th edition is almost here. Any advice and comments are welcome. Lists and pics soon to follow.

Welcome back, much is changed with the advent of 8th so there will be a lot for you to catch up on. Very superficially infantry have got cheaper and vehicles more expensive - but more survivable for it. Chimeras are included in this, and there's a -1 to hit for moving and shooting heavy weapons which will be pertinent to the Steel Legion. Flamers ignore this though, so they're a good option for Chimeras...

Gentlemen,

The 339th has been going through a rest recuperation and restructuring phase. I am beginning to plan out my complete army restructuring. Now that 8th has come out. Unfortunately I have not played a game in a year. Further more I have not tried 8th either. I am currently sitting out Hurricane Harvey in Texas. I have begun to assemble my last three sentinels. I will have 9 in total. I have already built 3 lascannons and 3 autocannon sentinels. The last three been to be armed. What would you suggest for their load outs. I would be using. Them in close support of infantry and have thought about plasma cannons for rule of looks cool and fluff. But I have thought about using either three more auto or Las cannons. Also I thought about using heavy flamers or multilaser about sentinels. Even though they will be modeled as armoured sentinels because of Armageddon's harsh climate. Please give me your input.

After reading the rules I think three heavy flamers would be awesome for front line infantry support. I may even convert the ones assembled to heavy flamers as I like auto hits.

Although I lie to shoot from afar and take the enemy out before they get to me
