Guest
OK do we know if the Terrans of the Dark Angel Legion were members of the Order? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/303797-dark-angels-legion-and-the-order/ Share on other sites
shabbadoo
Seeing as The Order predates the arrival of the Emperor on Caliban, no. After this event, the Dark Angels recruited from The Order, which effectively became the preperatory school for future Dark Angels space marines. Terran Dark Angels being members of The Order would be bass ackwards. After their arrival, the Dark Angels oversaw The Order, at least until the destruction of Caliban. Guest
So no chance of any being inducted after even as Honorary members? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/303797-dark-angels-legion-and-the-order/#findComment-3958521 Share on other sites
Cactus
Nothing I've read (which is everything except Pandorax) suggests that happened, but that doesn't mean it couldn't. Chaplain Lucifer
The Order trained people since youth to be a knight. I don' t think they would get honorary members, it's not about bestowing a status, it's about tradition and survival. plasmaspam
Post-heresy, does it then follow that the Inner Circle is The Order? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/303797-dark-angels-legion-and-the-order/#findComment-3958671 Share on other sites
JeffJedi
Once you discover a while galaxy to conquer and an army of loyal superhumans to lead you stop caring about your small order of knights, basicly that was Luther's problem. The Marines embraced the Lion as their master and would do anything for him. Those that didn't obey where sent back to Caliban. Brother Syddraf
the inner circle and the order are two differnt things. As said pre-heresy the order was a knightly order training and deploying knights. The inner circle did exist within the order, as a shadowy adhoc group, they even made an attempt to kill the Emperor on Caliban because they didn't like the changes happening. shabbadoo
So no chance of any being inducted after even as Honorary members? Why would any Dark Angels want to be inducted into a lesser organization? It was members of the The Order that aspired to become space marines, not the other way around. You see, the Dark Angels Space Marinens already served THE EMPEROR as His First Legion. There is no greater aspriation in all humanity, and they know it, so I don't think there would even be even the most remote of consideration given to joining The Order. The Lion didn't ask the Dark Angels to join his "club". The Lion was informed that his "club" already existed, and that it was called the Dark Angels, who were merely waiting for their leader, The Lion, to be found and join them in the real work to be done. And, this club makes his current club look like a bunch of n00bs. Having a Dark Angels space marine join The Order would be like having a Navy Seal join the Boy Scouts. They just aren't going to do it. It is a lowerering of themselves, and not in a humble way, but in status way. That seems beyond out of character. Solrac
Having a Dark Angels space marine join The Order would be like having a Navy Seal join the Boy Scouts. They just aren't going to do it. Cause if they did they would get all their merit badges within the first hour and would make for boring camping trips.
