The resurrection of my Blades of Altena which will be first the 27th Order of the 1st Legiones Astartes And the 77th Chapter of XIII Legiones Astartes Here is the rough start to the Golden Blades (They will become the Blades of Altena ) Opinions and critics welcome. Name: 27th Order (Order of the Golden Blade) Legion: Dark Angels Founding: 1st Chapter Master: Alexei Rajko Homeworld: Caliban Fortress-Monastery: Caliban Main Colours: Black Speciality: Tactical (Elements of Heavy Support) Battle Cry: “Never Falter, Never Fail... We are the 1st” Estimated Strength: 1400+ Origins The Order of the Golden Blade started back in ancient antiquity back before the time of the Emperor, over the years they have kept to the values of their ancestors, When Lion El'Jonson offered the smaller Orders a place in his vision of Caliban. Alexei's father immediately pledged his fealty to the young Supreme Grand Master knowing the Golden Blade would survive forever. When the Emperor arrived on Caliban and the Primarch was given command of the 1st Legion Alexei was induced into the 27th Order under the command of the Terran Chapter Master Ferenc Dragov. Home World The 27th were Terran born so Terra would be considered their homeworld. Even after the Legion being reunited with the Great Primarch the 27th did not receive many new recruits from Caliban. Janos was made a honorary member of the Order. Combat Doctrine The 27th were very flexible in warfare not favouring any tactics more than another but they did use heavy support to great effect. Predators, Land Raiders and Whirwinds were a constant part of the 27th's makeup. Dreadnoughts and Terminators formed the core of the elite elements. Organization The 27th are made of 3 battalions split into 5/5/4 Companies respectively. The 1st Company 1st Battalion is made up of Terminators and Dreadnoughts it is also the smallest company in the Chapter with only 75 members. They also form the Chapter Masters Bodyguard. The 2nd to 5th are standard Line companies focusing on Tactical/Tactical Support 2nd Battalion form 5 standard Line companies focusing on Tactical with a few Assault/Recon Squads. 3rd Battalion from the heavy elements of the Chapter. Squadrons of Predators, Whirlwinds, Heavy Support Squads and Land Raiders this is also home to 3 Glaive Superheavy Tanks. Recruitment After the initial recruitment on Terra the 27th numbered just over 500. When the Primarch was discovered and given command of the 1st Legion the 27th received over 1000 recruits from the Order most coming from the sub-sect Order of the Golden Blade. At the time of the accident they had lost just over 200 Marines and had a great record of success. Appearance and Iconography Much like the rest of the Legion the 27th adopted the colours of the Caliban Knights. Black Armour, White Robes, and the Red Winged Sword Legion Symbol. Janos and all the other members of the Golden Blade included somewhere on their armour the symbol of the Order which is a Golden Yellow Sword on a red background. Beliefs The 27th fought beside the Emperor for many years and value his leadership and and venerate him as their creator. When they were re-united with their Primarch they swore unswerving loyalty to Lion El'Jonson. Gene-seed The Gene-seed of the 1st Legion is considered to one of the purest, and the 27th are no different. Battle-cry “Never Falter, Never Fail... We are the 1st” Selected Battles/Events Heroes of Great Crusade Ferenc – Ancient Contemptor 1st of the 27th Ferenc was one of the first marines to be assigned to the 1st Legion. He was the original Master of the 27th Order He was severely injured fighting an unknown Xenos race which could only be described as giant Praying Mantis. He was given the option of the Emperors peace but he chose to fight on in the Great Crusade. After he was interred into a Contemptor Dreadnought Chassis his preferred weapons are a Autocannon and Power Fist. Ferenc marked Alexei as his replacement. Alexei Rajko Grand Master of the 27th Order (Golden Blades) Alexei is one of the youngest Grand Masters of the Dark Angels. Barely 75 years old but he has proved his bravery and tactical acumen. Once he became the Grand Master his Order had one of the lowest casualty rates of the 1st Legion. He was a meticulous planner, a genetic legacy of the Gene-seed of his Primarch. Sasahael – Codicer of the 27th Order Another relatively young marine he discovered his psychic talent in the middle of his first battle when he predicted the enemies tactics to near perfection, He has saved so many of his battle brothers. Even thou some would call his powers unnatural they can't argue he saves lives. He did warn Alexei of the perils of the jump the 27th suffered but to which the Order Master said “The Lion wills it”.
