Augustus
If the primarchs are brings of the warp and the warp is and always is...nt does that help explain how the legions reflected their primarchs and how the primarchs landed on planets reflecting those traits? Or did the Emperor put them there? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/303835-regarding-primarchs-and-gene-seed/ Share on other sites
Millicant
Primarchs are beings of the warp? I think the closest to that assumption we can make is that the Emperor used some knowledge from the warp in their creation. And even that is vague at best. The rest is sort of Nature vs Nurture, don't you think? Or maybe warp-iness vs Emperor's genius. Who knows? Wade Garrett
Going by Forge World lore, the Legions didn't always reflect their sires. Lorgar wasn't a frothing at the mouth atheist, Corax thought the Nineteenth Legion had more in common with the slaver lords he fought against than him, and the pre-Primarch Salamanders made the Iron Warriors look cuddly by comparison. tdemayo
I think that, yes, there's some kind of psychic resonance between the Primarchs, their geneseed and those who carry it. It's been esta, blished that the Primarchs are warp infused and their flesh is a tiny part of the geneseed. So I think the geneseed is warp-infused too: which has the happy side effect of explaining how Marines can do things that almost certainly biologically impossible. And also why certain traits in the Legions increased once they were reunited With thier genedaddys. And why they inherit certain, later imprints from their primarch's experiences too: like the Blood Angels coming to have visions of Sanguinus' death after the Seige of Terra. simison
Honestly, I think it would be the genetic side of things that would cause a reflection of primarch to legionnaire. Most space marines aren't psykers, and there's no hint that the Emperor used warpcraft to make the gene-seeds. So, I would say that the space marines and primarchs had mirroring biological predispositions that could or could not trigger.
