GOFADK
Hey Brothers One of my friends plays Necrons, and he is allways running a Nightbringer and Deciver kombo for Gaze of Death with -2LD.How do I deal with them? thraxdown
I've found that 4++ does not last long at all, a couple of psycannons or heavy psycannons do the trick for me Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/303943-how-to-deal-with-ctans/#findComment-3961695 Share on other sites
Reclusiarch Darius
Apply Dreadknight Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/303943-how-to-deal-with-ctans/#findComment-3961699 Share on other sites

ChaoticEric
As mentioned, they only have 4++ so just try causing as many wounds as possible and they'll die relatively quickly. As ap doesn't really matter and if he's t7 he's not immune to s4 it makes it a bit easier. Captain Coolpants
I've never had to face one... But on paper they sound like no problem. I can't imagine any monstrous creature being too tough for us, other than daemon Princes with their super high initiative, ws and such. I don't roll a lot of 6's so it would take a lot of stormbolters For me to take one down. RIP psybolt Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/303943-how-to-deal-with-ctans/#findComment-3961886 Share on other sites
IndigoJack
At T7, psybolt ammo on the storm bolters would still only wound on 6s. So in this instance, it doesn't really matter. thraxdown
Ah yeah, I was thinking t6. Psycannon still the best bet Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/303943-how-to-deal-with-ctans/#findComment-3961906 Share on other sites
Reclusiarch Darius
So Dreadknight with Heavy Psycannons, and then keep them out of 12"? No. Turn on 'Sanctuary' and 'Force', charge in with a greatsword. Enjoy their tears. IndigoJack
Sorry, force isn't going to do much, as all C'Tan have eternal warrior. You're better off shooting them and then cleaning up in assault. You are correct though, apply psycannon directly to the forehead of the C'Tan for best results. I'am a bit affraid for CC with them, because they hit as hard as oure dreadknight at ínitiativ with W6 S7 T7 Ap2 and 4 A And If I don't kill the Nightbringer he will almost kill a dreadknight by sure with his Gaze of death... Hate that ability Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/303943-how-to-deal-with-ctans/#findComment-3962500 Share on other sites
Captain Coolpants
Send strikes/terminators at him? Or even paladins? Paladins are probably a good idea, those extra wounds will help, especially with an apothecary. He only has 4 wounds with a 4++. With hammerhand on, a squad should really kill it. Unless your dice fail you miserably. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/303943-how-to-deal-with-ctans/#findComment-3962515 Share on other sites

Hate that ability Yeah probably shoot Nighbringer with every psycannon you possess. Send strikes/terminators at him? Or even paladins? Paladins are probably a good idea, those extra wounds will help, especially with an apothecary. You only wound him on 6's, 5's with 'Hammerhand'. I'm pretty sure C'Tan get Destroyer/S8+ large blasts to hurl at Paladins. Dreadknight is the only one who both wounds a C'Tan consistently, and can tank their damage well. T6 means the C'Tan only wounds on the DK' on a 3+, and you have a 4+ invul with 'Sanctuary' on. By comparison, the DK wounds on 2's. In a drawn out fight, provided you keep 'Sanctuary' up, you should win that fight. Zhukov
You try to shoot them down at range while avoiding being close to them. There is no reason to risk getting Gazed or punched in assault if you can avoid it. You stay at 24" and poor psycannons into them till they drop. Now if they take the formation and throw a T8 Nightbringer with 5+ FnP at you... then it gets tougher. You can still kite them, but it takes ages lol. Consider assaulting in this case if you háve to deal with it fast.
