Here is what I have so far.

gallery_80005_10378_36501.jpg

The front line consists of my 7 man tactical command section for a mechanicus Solar Auxilia army that I said I would never collect (yeah, that went well).
Back line consists of half of the non character terminators I'm painting this month as well as a second legion champion.

Here is what I have left.gallery_80005_10378_7031.jpg

2 Castellax, one for a heavy support squad the other to round off my praevian's squad. An 8 man volkite caliver support squad. 3 Thallax. 4 more normal terminators and a terminator siege breaker. Lastly, a rhino.

My first contemptor done. Second one is almost finished. Probably upload the pic tomorrow.

@ROBOcaster & fire golem: Thanks for the comments. happy.png I've grown to appreciate the Thallax models much more now having painted one up. They are much more complicated than I first thought. And yes, I also just noticed that they are all left handed - which is an interesting dynamic in a world of right handed marines.

BTW: A reminder about my other contributions to the pledge this month:

I'm very tempted to start EC. I love the kacophoni modes & other aspects of the army. But, if I did paint them they would be ED pink. Nothing against the royal purple but I'd paint them like the fallen marines featured here - all out EC pink.

On to other thoughts. Cheers all, -OMG

I actually really like that pink for them, nice colour! I love the models for the Emperors Children (the Kakophoni, Pheonix Guard and Palatine Blades, I'm not keen on Fulgrim and don't like the helmets) but I kinda hate them, otherwise I might do them too. And yeah I like the left handed Thallax, nice to get a little representation ;)

Did you paint that base btw? It's excellent, the weathering is pretty superb.

The Ferrus Manus base?  Yep, I painted that per my pledge to finish painting the whole model in the next 3 weeks or so.

Thanks for the comments, -OMG

And, I also agree with you about the EC.  Some of their options are really interesting and others not so much.  Still, there will be a day when they make the Fulgrim Ascended model.  I'm also predicting that Fabulous Bile will one day make for some interesting gaming.  In the meantime maybe an Eidolon themed army might bring some fearsome damage to the tabletop.

The second contemptor.

My SoH medic so far. Thought I'd paint this one first before getting onto the MkIV to get the colour balance right. This chap had brass shoulder pads but I switched it out to black. I'll paint the other one next and base and seal them together. Maybe go a bit crazy with the gloss blood splatter.

Priming has been done this day. 10 Destroyers/Veterans, 10 Mk IV tacs (that I haven't technically pledged), 2 Rhinos and my MotL Legion Champion.

Now, to procrastinate for 2 weeks and get it all done in the 3 days before the end :P

....I'll probably get it all done sometime this week, podcasts permitting (i cant paint in silence, for some reason, I need vids or podcasts to be playing in the BG :P)

I, Adra'Melek, Dragon of Nocturne, pledge Sorruk Vasha, interred within the Contemptor sarcophagus, for the Infernal Guard.

I will complete a pledge. I will or I will burn for eternity in the Warp. Only leaving sow fire on the fools that betray the Emperor's ideals.

@Robocaster....sorry for the late reply...new xbox game lol...the liquid on the base is supposed to be muddy water lol...and snap, im colour blind aswell haha...pain in the butt really. ..

@strumanchu...thanks for your great comment mate...really appreciate it and love your fists...was soooo close to copying your black and yellow scheme!

Lost the best part of a weeks painting thanks to downloading world of tanks...damn addictive game...managed to get back to my first addiction lol and finished most of the main body. ..if all goes well will have the last contemptor and the previan done by the end of nxt Sunday..

Wow guys, the volume and quality of work that is turning up on this thread now is SO impressive. Thanks for all of your involvement.

Kurama - your vow is logged, I'm happy enough with your current progress given all the size of your previous vows and all the effort you put in! Plus, I want to see those dreadnoughts! Did you ever finish your Ultramrines tanks from Feb?

OK, so I was planning to have a week one summary post up this morning, but I spent the hour and a half that I set aside just logging all of this month's pledges in my spreadsheet! I'm really busy right now, with a job interview coming up, and trip to Italy at the end of the week. I'll try and find as much time as I can to get the summary up, because its such an impressive role of pledges for March, but forgive me if I can't manage it. Hopefully the end of the month should be a bit easier for me!

Just as a brief outline this month includes:

- 10 players in an inter-clan Iron Hands War, with both ROBOcaster and Mind of Metal pledging over 50 points each.

- 10 Traitorous players, who have pledged 104 points worth of models.

- 23 Loyalists, with a huge total of 368.5 points pledged to the cause.

- Around 250 models pledged for work in March.

- Percentage completions to this point almost tied: 8.65% to the traitors 8.96% to the loyalists.

All to play for guys! Keep an eye out here too, as I'm hoping to have a few new things to add to the challenge in the coming weeks!

Hopefully I'll have a proper update up soon.

Siciran was finished I just need to do the tracks for the falchion;

If that's the case here's the finished contemptors;

The spartan just needs new tracks and is basecoated just need some more spray.

You can see the WIP shots in my thread :D

OMG - You continue to impress. It takes a hell of a paintjob for me to look at the carcass of a Space Marine and think 'Oooh... I should do Emperor's Children...'. Ferrus is going to look absolutely awesome.

richmarine - That's a really great Apothecary... Really tidy work, and a very nice green!

Rage of Khorne - Lovely freehand and great conversion work, as has previously been said.

gizur - Flip me, you do work quickly don't you. They both look great. The glow on the Mhara Gal is particularly good but doesn't take away from the model overall... I guess you can't have a lot left to paint now until they come up with more WB stuff, right?

Kurama - Great stuff! That deeper, darker blue looks great, and the little Genesis Chapter details are a really nice touch.

Kor'Vesh - As ever, thanks for all the work you put into these threads. By my reckoning this is the fifth month you've run the Casual thread, and it keeps getting bigger and better, which I reckon is pretty much down to you, so kudos! Enjoy your trip to Italy, and we'll try and stop this from falling over and burning down without you!

You coming up to study? I don't actually have the Fire Raptor myself, but I know a guy who built them both and from speaking to him he said it was the worst kit he'd ever built.

Nope! Just a change of scenery etc. My wife and I have been up there four times in the last six months, and we really like it, so we've decided we're moving. Had a chat to the guys in GW on the Royal Mile last time I was up there, and there seems to be a decent sized contingent of Heresy players up there, so that kinda sold it for me... As well as, you know... Every house we look at being roughly a third cheaper to live in than London!

@strumanchu...thanks for your great comment mate...really appreciate it and love your fists...was soooo close to copying your black and yellow scheme!

That's high praise indeed, coming from someone who paints Contemptors (and everything else) as well as you do! Thanks mate! I certainly won't stop you if you want to have a go... msn-wink.gif

1/3 cheaper? Yikes, London prices are mad! That's fair enough then. There is a decent and growing Heresy crowd. This is where I do most of my gaming and the current campaign we're working on http://www.edinburghleagueofgamers.co.uk/30k-legion-war-escalation-campaign/ If you arrive at the end of May then you might catch a bit of it.

Yes of course im a fast painter and there are only a 10 Man assault Squad left for my Army until i have to wait wat FW brings for me over the Calth/Shadow Crusade Books.

The Glyphs are made easy. I paint diluted and Model Air Light Sea Blue and then make few highlights with diluted Game Color Glacier Blue.

Two of the three seekers I pledged, including the sergeant on the left.

gallery_80005_10378_13267.jpg

Would have had two terminators to show as well, but still waiting on parts to dry (haven't done the eyes yet).

Now have 2 normal terminators, a terminator character, 8 support marines, a seeker, a veteran with heavy bolter, 3 thallax and a rhino to paint this month. Thats all my basecoated stuff done hopefully by the end of the month, with only a small number of models left to paint after that and I will have completely painted my collection of Iron Hands and Mechanicum (that I have at the moment).
