Pre-Heresy Imperial Fists

Recommended Posts

I have been slowly building this army over a year or so, now everything is painted to a standard i am happy with i am working on their bases, because i model isnt truely finished until it is based.

Bit by bit i will be sharing my completed force, but for now i am kicking things off with Rapier Crew,

Cheers, took me a while to sus out the best way of building a strong yellow.

I understand where you're coming from but i am going for the almost homogenous, rank upon rank look.

Just a side note, the head is Emperors Children, i did consider Iron Warriors but didnt think a grey/silver helmet on a grey base would add much so went for a dirty/dusty purple.

A small up date now. Some of these aren't based yet but they are in the que.

H.Bolters 1

Big Block o' Boys

Bolters 2

Thanks man, appreciate that.

my method is:

spray black,

spray white (i find white over black gives a good base),

base coat Averland Sunset (water it down quite a bit to get a smooth cover)

wash with a mix of sepia and earthshade (about a 50/50 mix)

apply averland sunset over the armour panels again leaving the wash in the recess,

finally shade with lamenters yellow to make the yellow "pop"
