Eternal Warrior
Good day to all. I am in need of advice from the more venerable bretheren here. While i have assembled Belial and command squad out of the new Deathwing box, (dang what a good looking kit) I feel i will eventually end up running green marines (Bleached bone in my Angels of Absolution's case) as I feel the rate of fire is harder to cut down with more Tacticals on the table as opposed to fewer Termies. Is the Dakka Stik viable with a "horde" of Tactical Squads? The FnP banner, with it's greater area of effect, seems great. Please guide me. I will be building these guys 5 at a time using the Veterans box. Also should I put them on the new bigger bases or just attach them to what comes in the box? Thank you all!!! Master Avoghai
The dakka banner works well with a "wall" of tacticals. However it's not a very mobile use as opposed to the RW use or the crusader use. Moreover, it will not extend to the termi (which is lame if you want my opinion). If you run a mix of termis + tactical I think that the standard of retribution will work better as it allows all your army to move and it will work on every models Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/304302-boots-on-the-ground-and-new-bases/#findComment-3969737 Share on other sites
eurieus
I tried a few times to use a greenwing with the dakka banner but i can't seem to make it work, maybe because i very rarely use tactical squads.... It's is awesome in a ravenwing heavy army. If yoou're going with termies, then in my modest experience, fortitude is great, the FnP saved so many of my terminators and litteraly won me games. IMHO the Dark angels dont shine in their greenwing, but a few elements from it can support well both of our specialist wings. Guest
With me coming back into the hobby I have opted to use the 32mm bases to which I bought some resin ones from ebay The one thing I do not like about modelling is doing bases But on the playing side I can only answer how I preferred to play... In 2nd and 3rd (Yes I know :P) I would with my Ultramarines run 6 Tactical Squads. They were the backbone of my army and never let me down. In todays game I would probably do the same. I like Tactical Squads what can I say :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/304302-boots-on-the-ground-and-new-bases/#findComment-3969879 Share on other sites
elmo
Personally I have no intention on rebasing my 4th Company and they will be staying on the 25mm bases. I may be tempted for some characters and naturally, if they are supplied, with new kits. Otherwise I will be using whichever bases come in the box.
