CaptainStabby
This looks like the more appropriate forum... I am fail. Let's try this again. So I have been working on a bit of fluff for a kill team I'm building and... I'm kicking around which Ordo would be the most involved with cults surrounding one of the original traitor legions. Off hand I'm thinking Ordo Hereticus with possibly some Ordo Astartes leanings/advisors, or maybe vice versa. The writeup I'm going for speifically doesn't deal with Daemons (yet) so I would rule out Malleus, and obviously Xenos. Am I thinking in the right direction here, or is there some other weird obscure Ordo that's not coming to mind? Cheers folks! KhorneFlakes
Ordo Hereticus is right but if say Word Bearers decide to summon daemons Ordo Mallius might get involved. Conn Eremon
Ordo Malleus is specific for daemons, however they are also called in for matters dealing with the original Traitor Legions, being seen as no different. Ordo Hereticus would be more appropriate to renegade Chapters, especially with their connection to the Adepta Sororitas. You asked about whether this was the right place or not. The Liber Astartes has as its focus and intent the creation and development of DIYs. Now, a DIY Kill-Team is certainly acceptable here if that's the intent. It might not fit the traditional IA format, but the IA format is far from required. However, if you are writing a fan-fiction short story, then this topic will need to be moved to their subforum. If this is a general Inquisition question, without any intent to write fan-fiction or develop a DIY, I can move it to their subforum. Let me know, and I'll place this where it belongs. Hopefully, you are here to develop a DIY Kill-Team, as it's not something I've seen and would be interested in seeing someone approach it. CaptainStabby
I thiiiink this is the right place. The kill team will definitely have an Astartes presence, just working through what flavor of Inquisition they'd be attached to because it will have an impact on the makeup of the other members of the team, as well as how I build them out. Along with the fluff for all of them of course. :) Right now it's feeling Ordo Hereticus might be the way to go in my head, mostly because when I think Malleus, it's instant GK time and I don't necessarily see the primary mandate of this group being to smash Daemons. Conn Eremon
The Ordo Malleus are only accompanied by Grey Knights when necessary, during some of the greatest dangers to the Imperium. But the other 95% of the time? That said, while a Traitor Legion presence will get the Malleus' attention, there is no reason why Hereticus can't be involved. Especially if they start by investigating a heretical cult, that escalates into a full-blown incursion from the Chaos Legions.
