BitsHammer
I remember reading somewhere that every sister was an orphan at birth. No idea how that affects the numbers. Current fluff has them as orphans of Imperial Officials (officers, ranking nobles, ect). Of course the Imperium being what it is, it's just as likely some aren't and are just passed off as being of such a pure bloodline. And then there was the Rogue Trader's daughter who joined a convent of Sisters in Crossfire (an Arbites novel). march10k
The only number that matters is the head count in [OMR], which is 287 atm...mine is a very small order! Blagon
Another bit: if you beat the Dawn of War: Soulstorm campaign as the Sisters then the Ecclesiarchy boots up six cities in the Kaurava system, one for each of the Orders Militant. Part of the epilogue, the narrator says, "pilgrims and many millions of sisters gathered there for prayer." Duke Danse Macabre
I still think when we get a new range of models it would be a good time to start off a new order of my own. A nice way to get started on order if I do say so myself. *Furyou Miko
Yes, but Soulstorm also has a giant daemon wearing knock-offs of the Armour of Saint Katherine and carrying a knock-off Argent Blade, both sized for a small titan, with actual flappy wings as its "Living Saint"... and gives the Sisters Lightning Interceptors... and has Immolators that are not transports... BitsHammer
Soulstorm also had Penitent Engines that were good. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/304604-sisters-how-many/page/2/#findComment-3980304 Share on other sites

You forgot the part where they build Power generators across the valley from the enemy or on a Warp-tainted planet or even need a forward base in the first place =P Very fun game though, and the fluff can be called "aproximative" at least. I'll stick with Fulke's numbers though, although i'd say 0.1% rather than 1% for the first number, lol Then i get 1 Billion. I'm fine with that. And 500 sister a year, errrmm... I'll go find the quote about how there is no canon in 40K Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/304604-sisters-how-many/page/2/#findComment-3980340 Share on other sites

Ordo Machinum
There is a simpler answer to address the potentially large numbers of the various sororitas orders. They exist... but they are all not necessarily worthy... foxlight713
Don't forget from the recent BA / Necron / Tyranid campaign there was the excerpt of (rough quote here) "The tyranids were cut down by more bolter fire than a entire chapter of space marines could muster" Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/304604-sisters-how-many/page/2/#findComment-3981087 Share on other sites
*Furyou Miko
That just proves that the Sisters can bring a greater concentration of force to bear, not that there are more over all.
