Azarians
Hi guardsmen, I'm a new French player of the Imperial Guard and i need your advice for my painting on my Imperial Guard army ;) Care, your eyes will burn XD Thanks for watching :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/304649-my-imperial-guard-army/ Share on other sites
Father Mehman
Welcome to the Guard, Azarians! Your guardsmen look nice ! What kind of advice are you looking for? Off the top of my head I'd say basing your infantry and adding even more weathering to your tanks would make them look better, but what you have now is really good. I assume that they are in an urban war zone. Maybe for the tanks you could add some mud around the tracks and then lightly drybrush the mud with various grey colours. The infantry could have some rubble added to their bases. Those are just some ideas. Have you named your regiment yet? Azarians
I don't do my base, but i will do it soon :) Yeah my guardsmen ight in urban zones ;) Thanks you for your advice, i will listen to you Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/304649-my-imperial-guard-army/#findComment-3977427 Share on other sites
WarriorFish
Aha, and what nice models they are! It's a great urban scheme, almost identical to another army we have here as it happens! As Meh said some basing and a bit of weathering are always good ideas and will make the models look even better :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/304649-my-imperial-guard-army/#findComment-3977488 Share on other sites
Marshal Argos
I agree, the Infantry look really good but doing up the bases would really give them that extra kick. Personally I like the tanks the way they are and wouldn't any more weather than already is. Father Mehman
Another suggestion, now that it comes to mind, would be to get ahold of the Cadian Company Command box and spread those heads it has in it to Sergeants in your army. It gives a lot of character without having to do much work! elmo
Welcome to the Guard Azarians. Your vehicles look great and the figures, as others have said, could just do with the bases being done. Father Mehman
Great job, Azarians! Make sure you paint all the little details later on so the tank really catches the eye. So far so good! wulfgar hammerfist
Welcome to the Guard! I really like the look of your army. It is suitably dark. I prefer darker color schemes as well. You mentioned that your regiment is urban based so a suggestion for a basing scheme would be to use bits of cut-up sprue mixed with gravel for a nice urban debris field. Looking forward to seeing more of your work! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/304649-my-imperial-guard-army/#findComment-3979983 Share on other sites
WarriorFish
That's a good coating from what I can see, very good progress - maybe it should be named "Lightning" after the speed at which you paint? ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/304649-my-imperial-guard-army/#findComment-3980133 Share on other sites
