Banks
Hey guys,i'm currently working on a flawless hosts scheme for my chaos marines, but i don't want the bright bright pink of Emperor's children, i want something more along the lines of this. http://smg.photobucket.com/user/KingKonstad/media/P1010441.jpg.html I really like the pink the painter has achieved here, and was wondering if anyone could perhaps point me in the direction of what colors were used in this mix for the pink. Thank you in advance. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/304658-need-help-achieving-color/ Share on other sites
Grotsmasha
Not sure about the base colour, but it does look like its washed in either Sepia or flesh. Banks
So upon some more digging,i found he made a post that tells someone what colors to use,he said Red Gore,Ultramarine Blue,Elf flesh, and white. I have the renamed colors, however i'm having trouble getting the ratios correct. Lucio
Personally I'd try Emperors Children as a base colour, drybrush on Changling Pink and Lucius Lilac, and wash with Druchi violet Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/304658-need-help-achieving-color/#findComment-3977772 Share on other sites
Banks
Hmm,i've actually attempted the Emperors children with the druchi violet, and its not even near what i'm wanting Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/304658-need-help-achieving-color/#findComment-3977827 Share on other sites
Bryan Blaire
Start with Screamer Pink as a base, layer on Pink Horror, shade in the recesses with either Druchii Violet (for a more purple tone) or Carroburg Crimson (for more reddish tone), clean up with Pink Horror, line highlight with Emperor's Children, final spot highlight with Fulgrim Pink or mix 1:1 Emperor's Children:Skull White. Or just use Screamer Pink, shade with either of the above, then clean up with Screamer Pink, line highlight with Pink Horror, spot highlight with Emperor's Children for a deeper pink. Banks
So i've tried out what has been suggested here, unfortanately i'm not quite getting what i am hoping for. With the pink in the image,it seems to be a tad more...lavender that the pink i am getting,i feel like there is something missing. Bryan Blaire
You could try thinning some Guilliman Blue glaze and putting that over the pink, or you could mix it in to a darker pink to get a slight more purple color. Banks
So i took your advice, and i think i've found a pretty good mix,i mix emperors children, white and then i directly mix in Druchii Violet into the color rather than washing it over, though i'll do that for the recesses. But mixing in the druchii violet also helps to water it down a bit since i'm using an airbrush as well. Thank you guys Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/304658-need-help-achieving-color/#findComment-3979957 Share on other sites
