GhostMalone
So looking at my praevian; Combi weapon Power fist Melta bombs Blind helm of the black judges Warp shunt field 3 Castellax as his body guard. Now I'm looking at using an ork power claw as his power fist.... Thoughts on this loadout Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/304674-bound-to-iron-and-the-machine/page/2/#findComment-3980714 Share on other sites
Daemon2027
Could you fit in a chainhammer somewhere. They are listed as weapons used by the black judges and the thought of a big hammer with chain bases on the business end. I may have to make one for my VIII Legion! Anyway cool idea, I haven't commented yet but that doesn't mean I haven't been following, but, just putting it out there. Go for the Hutuer tactics, used by the Germans in WWI. Heavy bombardment of the enemy, light infantry infiltrators assault the weak points, isolating the heavy enemy strongpoints, which were then assaulted by your own heavy infantry. Imagine the IW/Mechanicum doing this, the lack of fear, the last bomb has literally fallen when despoiler squads assault the weakened lines, as the enemy struggles to respond up walks Castlex and tyrant Seige terminator squads. GhostMalone
I was thinking of basing the praetor on Joseph stalin, bring forth the cold iron motherland and turn him into a 30k counterpart, utilizing stalins paranoia could be the reason behind the creation of the mannequin soldiers Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/304674-bound-to-iron-and-the-machine/page/2/#findComment-3982035 Share on other sites
GhostMalone
So I've started to work on the dereddeo; Start of some extra GS details still heaps of work to do. http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-03-22%2018.17.15_zpsmkqfwr1t.jpg http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-03-22%2018.17.34_zpsqii46nag.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/304674-bound-to-iron-and-the-machine/page/2/#findComment-3984039 Share on other sites
Brother Dallo
If you haven't glued them yet, I'd suggest reposing the legs so that they aren't locked. Currently, it looks like it would fall straight backwards from the recoil, if it fired. Perhaps on one knee? I haven't seen a kneeling Dorito yet. Marshal Reinhard
The deredeo's legs are less posable than contemptor legs, so I'm pretty sure it'd be next to impossible to get one to kneel. There's also the ammo belts around the back that partly limits how the legs can go. Besides, it kinda defeats the purpose of those multi toe feet if it were kneeling. But yes I agree, the curren't leg pose doesn't really work Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/304674-bound-to-iron-and-the-machine/page/2/#findComment-3984286 Share on other sites
Kriegriss
I like the Stalin idea Iron Warriors seem very red army to me and as far as Deredo I know people love them but they always look they are going to fall over lol between the missiles, guns and uniboob chassis there just a gunned up teeter totter on legs. The previan load out looks ok excited to see how the ok power klaw looks rock on man Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/304674-bound-to-iron-and-the-machine/page/2/#findComment-3984292 Share on other sites
GhostMalone
Dallo- As stated the dereddeo isn't a kit with much mobility I can try widen the stance but that's about it sadly I'll do what I can :) Reinhard- once it's based it might look better Kriegriss- well I'm hoping the loadout works my only issue is now the praevian has become a support consul I need to add a war smith to my list which means I'm going to need to go to 3000pts Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/304674-bound-to-iron-and-the-machine/page/2/#findComment-3984442 Share on other sites
helterskelter
Yay kurama is doing an eddy! To posing naysayers I say balderdash, I managed. Though his legs look slightly inward, I like where you've started with your greenstuff. And I'm glad you're still hobbying and not leaving us for weeks, unless it already happened and I lost scale of time Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/304674-bound-to-iron-and-the-machine/page/2/#findComment-3984560 Share on other sites

GhostMalone
Helterskelter- one more week till I'm off the radar for a while, I've actually applied for a full time position in the outback, if I get it I'll sadly be gone for 4 years but I'll probably update once a month. Dantioch- the hardest part I'm finding is slowly building up the skull mask, tonight ill try add the next layer and definition Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/304674-bound-to-iron-and-the-machine/page/2/#findComment-3984604 Share on other sites
GhostMalone
So more work; http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-03-23%2017.00.36_zpsznwemo0z.jpg http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y524/Taron_James_Beer/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-03-23%2017.00.59_zpsrixvvgwt.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/304674-bound-to-iron-and-the-machine/page/2/#findComment-3984964 Share on other sites

GhostMalone
Pffft my GS skills are crude as a kids finger painting, but in saying that practice makes..... relatively better. Brother-Chaplain Kage
For things with sharp, clean edges like the heavy support icon on the knee, there's a couple of things you can do. 1) Make it a little bigger than normal and use a hobby knife to trim the edges down, or 2) roll out some GS nice and level and let it cure completely, the cut the icon out of it. I was following your advice for it that's why it's a bit chunkier as its cured over night now I straighten the edges and shave it down, I'd like to do the iv numerals on the right hand leg next. I just feel that the upper torso needs some decoration like the iron skull mask and banners Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/304674-bound-to-iron-and-the-machine/page/2/#findComment-3985760 Share on other sites
GhostMalone
Being bound to a shell of flesh clad in iron and ceramite, how cruel our race can be. Rather then letting the body fail and the soul rest we are used as weapons with no respite. Once we dreamt of an end to the constant warfare and the drain it put on our psyche, some of us even prayed for an end. As we reach the limits of our mental fatigues and even our enhanced altered minds snap they don't let us rest, our bodies are then used as the housing for an artificial entity, an intelligence unlike our own. As these program's become aware, adapt, change we find that they no longer are bound by the limits of the mind, body & soul. They are a ghost, sentient code and they are bound within a shell of flesh and steel, but even a machine is placed with limitations... Until it adapts Until it becomes aware And I fear this is my fate... GhostMalone
Since the start of this war I have been chasing shadows through the deepest recesses of my mind. The heavens weep for the actions we have taken against our Race. But were all the same breed after all and our motives for war in reality are of no concern; Religion, Ideology, Resources, Land, Grudges, Love or just because. No matter how pathetic the reason, it's enough to start a war. War will never cease to exist. Reasons can be thought up after the fact. Human nature pursues strife. Now you may ask what part I play in this war, I will not give you an arrogant reason like some and say I am a god or even an angel or even that I saw humanity as a flawed concept. No I was simply an emissary following his orders. The warmaster tasked me to prove my fealty to show I would be as strong as the iron that flows within my Legion, to throw away my oaths and fealty to the Imperium I helped build. Some of my brethren could do so thanks to resentment and the bitterness within their hearts. I did so as I had felt true pain, even the most ignorant, innocent child will eventually grow up as they learn what true pain is. It affect what they say what they think and then in turn they become real people. And those who do not understand true pain can never understand true peace. So I carry the warmasters mark and I will fulfil the task he has set me. I will become his emissary of death and I will show this race true pain which will bring about the Peace that Lupercal promised me. A universe of Pain; I want them to feel Pain, to think about Pain, to accept Pain, to know my Pain. And when that day comes they will finally find Peace. ++++++++++++ Unit Designation Call Sign// ApollosHope Local// Last Transmitted Location Sigma 2,34•SE/7'69• Zeta 52Hrs till deployment operation begins.
