2000 pts New Necrons VS BA and Guard Allies - Fully painted!

Was a tough match, I almost pulled it off but that necron resilience just prevented me from taking home the victory.

You don't often see such a static BA force. What was your thought process behind the list design and did you find the lack of mobility a hindrance?

This was my first game against necrons, and I was aware that he'd be taking a ton of warriors and running decurion + Lord with re-roll ones.

I always choose to play with a solid defense during maelstrom. I like having a decent back line with heavy weapons. I figured with his lack of 24+ weaponry my whirlwind and manticore would wreak havoc amonst 60+ tightly packed necrons. I found that not to be the case as the reanimation still works at strength 10 and is still good with re-rolls of 1.

I my reasoning was to hold my own line and attack him with death company and sanguinary guard, with the scouts as an early road block. I thought If I could keep the fighting on his half of the board I'd be able to keep my own objectives and threaten his... I very nearly pulled it off.

My counter attack around turn 3 should really have finished off his immortals and cleared up my entire board half but alas, twas not to be....

I chose to play BA originally simply because I liked being able to have medics (priest) spread around and I liked predators being able to move 6'' and still fire everything.

Any advice for me? I think I'd drop the 10 sternguard, they did nothing but I thought he might be bringing a ctan
