Rune Priest Ridcully
So having read about how the chaos Gods "Birth" the greater daemons, and how a chaos worshippers soul is absorbed into their god upon death, is it possible that a personality/memories of a worshipping mortal who died and was absorbed so could form the core/part of a greater daemon's personality? *Furyou Miko
Possible, but unlikely, since the chaos gods 'digest' the mortals they imbibe. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/304795-greater-daemon-personalities/#findComment-3980861 Share on other sites

Rev. Tiberius Jackhammer
Most of the time Greater Daemons are just a chunk of their parent God, but there are plenty of exceptions. The Sapphire King is a Keeper of Secrets born from the negative feelings Ferrus Manus had about being betrayed, there's a Slaaneshi Sorceress who stole the power of various Keepers of Secrets... Anything goes if you have a decent reason for it. A mortal having a strong/unique enough soul that it left an "imprint" on a small fraction of a Chaos God sounds pretty reasonable. lfhoule
It's possible and/or reasonable that a strong enough mortal soul could imprint on a Greater Daemon, but more likely than not those souls would instead be formed into Daemon Princes(ses), and act on their own in the name of the Chaos God that created them. Teetengee
Would it be possible to twist a god by killing enough people that worship that god a little while also holding a specific other belief you want to incorporate into that god. Perhaps if you killed enough mass killeres of khorne who had a strong sense of justice you could inch khorne, or at least an aspect of him, towards justice? In the old Lost and the Damned/Slaves to Darkness tomes, it mentioned that Khorne's face was a bit Orky thanks to the countless Orks in the galaxy constantly fighting and dying, and they rarely even worship Khorne. Still, the Chaos Gods are empowered by almost all the souls that have been/(ever will be?) to varying degrees. The amount who would need to be slain to influence the God would be astronomical. Welllllllll.... some people plan big. Maybe that is tzeentch's plan, slowly manipulate all of the chaos gods into clones of itself. It is a fun idea/plotline, could make a good background for a Chaos Lord of Tzeentch in a campaign or something. lost_angel
One of the liber chaotica books (sorry, forgot which one) details how mortal cults can endeavor to create a daemon from their combined souls via ritual sacrifice. The example given outlined how a small chaos cult may kill themselves in a preordained fashion all at the same time. The idea being that their souls would then merge in the warp to form a new entity based on all their personalities and granting the group a form of immortality. With this in mind it's certainly possible that daemonic entities other than daemon princes may have personalities directly rooted from mortals. Come to think of it, wasn't that how the emperor came about...
