Gather round cause my pack has a tale to tell, OF VICTORY!  3 Rounds, 3 victories.  Now, I had a good chunk of the recap typed out, and then I tabbed for some music (Braum song from League of Legends seemed fitting), tabbed back, saw I needed to delete something, hit backspace, poof, all gone.

So I'll keep it short, cause I have beer in growlers from breweries ready to go down.

My team was Tau and Wolves (Team Fish and Chips) he brought Riptides, tanks, Broadsides and crisis suites, I brought Murderfang, Ven Dread, Wolf Guard Termies, and Thunderwolves with a Battle Leader (Krakensword, Allfather be praised that thing rocks, and SS on TWC)  I made an outline of my list in another thread when asking for advice.  The Lucious drop pod was the best advice!

Round 1 was against 2x Imp Knights, double Tau with lots of Riptides and tanks, with Firewarriors for troops.  I learned quick, unless your thunderwolves, you can't escape a knight.  People say ignore them, you can, you can sink your teeth into other targets, but he will catch up with you.  His double distance move is huge.  My Thunderwolves were the only thing all tourney to take a knight down.  My BL, and 3x WC wolves did nothing, but my barebones wolf with a melta bomb, and TH/SS wolf took him down.  two HPs to melta, four to Thunder hammer.  After that we played cat and mouse with the other knight.  He opted to destroy the broadsides over turning around to come back for me.  Downside, my Dreads dropped turn one, Murderfang and the Ven almost destroyed to interceptor fire on my turn, and were finished off by the end of his next turn.  It took a LOT of firepower from him though, thanks to the shield and the Lucious Pod cover +nightfighting.  Drop that pod right against ruins, so you can step Murderfang out onto the doors and pickup great cover.

Round 2 was against Wolves (this made me sad) and White Scar bikes.  There were drop podding wolves everywhere.  Unfortunately for them they had so much deepstriking, even though almost all of their stuff came in turn two, the little they had on the board at the start was almost completely gone.  Murderfang and Ven dread earned their keep.  Taking out Long fangs, a bike commander, and another unit of bikes.  TWC did it's thing, but I steered them clear of his Murderfang.  I knew the TWC could beat his murderfang, but it would cost me too many TWC in the process.  Tough game, their orbital bombardment took out all of our Broadsides, but we pulled it together.  Our lowest scoring round, but a win nonetheless.

Round 3 (redemption round, GK/AM) I hate grey knights.  Or at least I used to.  When they came out in 5th, and they murdered my wolves, i formed a grudge.  I really feared his two dreadknights against my TWC.  But Hammer and Anvil really payed off for my team.  Also so did the large ruins that was dead center.  The knights each came forward, one going for the Relic.  They both were shot up pretty bad, and both times my Wolves moved forward to meet them and destroyed them.  The Krakensword instantly earning it's points.  The S6 Ap2 Initiative 5 finished them up quick before they could even strike back.  The ruins split up the AM from the GK so we shot them down low, and my TWC and drop podded Arjac/WG finished them off.  They buried their HQ in a mass squad of guard with a Sniper assassin deep on their side.  Perfect place for Murderfang and the Ven Dread.  They turned some plasma fire on their rear armors, took Murder down to 1 (just making him angry) and the ven down to two.  Then next round Murder did what he did best, and the Ven took out the assassin then joined him.

Not the place guard wanna be.  This was after two turns of Murderfang shredding his way through a massive wave of guard.  TWC picked up and walked away with the relic, making moral saves from plasma and las shooting coming their way.

Final thoughts:  We brought a ton of missile fire to support with some spots of melta fire, and my favorite kind of wolves, Melee monsters.  Arjac made me proud as always, and two of the three rounds, Murderfang and the Vendread made their points up.  Even the one round they were shot up quick, they still soaked up an armies worth of power to buy the rest of the army time.  TWC with a multi tool approach paid off, and the Krakensword is totally worth it.  Keep your Initiative 5 on your Lords/Battle leaders, and strike with AP2.  It paid off in spades.

Sounds like a right 'n' proppa fight :D glad to see that Lucius carrying Murderface worked, I want to try it next week myself. That the TWC and Krakenlord did well is no surprise at all. I just call it 'business as usual'.

I am pretty interested in Arjac and his crew. What exactly did they contribute that made them this great?

I dropped Arjac last every round, by that time he wasn't going to draw mass fire directly. With the three high strength shots, he took out tanks or put a hurting on the monstrous creature he would charge next turn. He never died, killing over double his points every game. He became a mini surgical strike every game.

Nice work, Nrth!! Because of you and the amazingly positive response to the Lucius Pod, I have just ordered two myself!!

Nice to know that the wolves of Fenris can hold up against Tau and Knights. Since apparently everyone is playing them...

One from the hammer, and two from the ... storm... er... bolter...??

End of Line

Haha sorry, I dropped Arjac with 4 other wolfguard. Two with ss/th, two with wc/combi-melta. On the drop I had the hammer and two melt a shots. Using arjac again next tourney in two weeks with his shield brothers, with Ulrik, a rune priest and an iron priest.

My tactics last week we're simple. Put so much on the table that was threatening that my opponent couldn't just focus on one threat. Dropping in the two dreads and driving thunderwolves up the middle, by the time arjac dropped he was considered less threatening, their mistake. Granted he did get stuck in combat one game with a riptide. Since he lost his re rolls against monstrous creatures, he's a little slower. Still beat em out though. All three games the two other ss/th termie died, but arjac and the claws remained to murder.
