Finishing My First List

Hello all

Im a first time poster and have never played a game but have read many forums (at work) and painted many models.

Im close to completing my first army i could put on the table.

I don't want to to be to competitive and have really fun games against lists looking to be the same, if i vs someone playing a a cheese list ill lose and that's fine.

I don't mine using the psycannons as counts as, as i brought these models for 6th edition and i paint to slowly to change them

The models the i have painted and have to include in the list are

5 terminators 3 halbards 1 with cannon. 1 sword. 1 hammer

10 purifiers 2 hammer 2 psycannons 1 halbard

1 land raider redeemer or crusader

1 Grand Master

1 Liberian

My List is

GM

Soul glave

5 Terminators

1 psycannon halbard

1 hammer

2 halbard

1 sword

10 Purifiers

2 incinerators

2 hammers

2 halbards

1 LR redeemer

Multimelter

extra armor

My plan for 1000pts. the purifiers go in the LR turn one and the terms with GM deep strike in. the LC moves towards central objectives also were the terms will be aiming

Past that my knowledge is shoot buff up and assult

Also any advice on how to get to 1850 would be appreciated im thinking ally a SM force to get a drop pod for my purifiers

blood angles for the better tacs and some jumppacks, but i already have good flame options with there tacs have.

Codex SM could get Cents have ranged options but troops just seem like a tax

Space wolves? melta squads and add in a TWC unit

If your not in for competition, just fluff and fun then cents and drop pods are against what you want. I would add a storm raven and dreadknight to your list. 1 dreadnought wouldn't hurt either. The return of Grandmaster Orias perhaps? The forgeworld doomglaive dread is way more worth point cost since our normal noughts went up. He still has force too

Welcome brother!

As for how to expand your army may I suggest one of our unique models, the nemesis dead knight. Good on the eyes (subjective), good on the table.

I'm in the process of putting together a stormraven myself and excited to see how it will work out.

I'll second the notion that if you do not want to go competitive as it were, you might not want to grab pods for your purifiers, it's very strong at the moment. If you do want to, go with the blood angels or wolves ones..

Thanks for the replys:)

I think if i dont include any dread knights in my list and drop pod the purifiers it wouldn't be overly strong

also i don't have one and if i do i would want to replace the baby carrier with a dreadnought front making it $$$$

I think the redeemer is our best option, we have lots of bolter shots and the standard one just dosent seem to do enough damage for its cost.

I like the idea of the storm raven... If i went SWs is there thunder wolf/storm wolf and assault flyer? i like that model over the SR alot

I want to keep the list idea the same, with everything being thrown at them by turn 2 while all the while the LR is moving up with 250pts+ of untouched Emperor love inside. I will write a list when i have a look at the SW and BA book.

ill keep the deep strike terminators, SR/TW with a load of yet to be decided combat troops, drop pods of purifiers and what ever troop tax i have to take. and look at HQ i think he may cost to much once i add allys

I think your list is pretty solid, its actually a cool, well rounded GK list with no cheese units ! i would recommend swapping the LR for a stormraven though as you will need some anti air plus, you can put your purifiers in it, combat squad them and charge them out of it and cause CHAOS! Things you could add are a Librarian, for his price hes a steal and you cannot go wrong with a little 2+ 3WC battery!! And ofcourse.....a dreadknight, or two.....OR FOUR msn-wink.gif
