Immolator hatch issues

Recommended Posts

I have in my possession the "roof" section of an Immolator, which is awesome, but nothing else from the sprue, and I'm wondering what I can do with it, since getting anything else from the sprue seems to be almost impossible without buying an entire Immolator kit (something I'm considering for the future but don't want to do right now)

The problem is that both the hatch spaces on the top of the hull are huge - I think they're Razorback/Predator turret mount sizes? There's a suitably sized hatch in the kit and also an adaptor which allows for mounting a standard Rhino cupola (which I want to do) but I'm stumped without those components and I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions. I'd hate for this component to goto waste. It's very helpful for test-fitting and so on, but I'd like to give it a permanent home on one of my vehicles.

As for why I want to do that - I like the cathedral-esque look of the Immolator hull and also its slightly increased size, and it would make a very nice command vehicle for an important Word Bearer squad once it was suitably sanctified.

So, what could be done about the hatch slots in the upper hull? I'd like to be able to mount standard SM STC stuff (Rhino hatches/cupolas, Razorback or Predator turret is acceptable). Any ideas are welcome.

Looking at someone else's build pics it looks like the hatch size is the same as the various things that mount on a rhino chassis. For that forward cupola I'd probably take a spare razorback/land raider hull weapon base and drill out an appropriate sized hole for a cupola to mount into. All said I don't have that kit so I can't say I really know, but now I've got some ideas inspired I wanna try out.
