awilden
Hi all, i was going to be putting an order through soon for some models, and wanted to grab some paints (free shipping over certain amount, so might as well). I wanted to try to get together a nice selection of paints to be able to do all sorts of different metals found in Chaos Space Marines (Nurgle corroded/rotten metals) Blood Angels (bright shiny golds and silvers) and Necrons (pretty much all the metals i guess lol). So far the selection of metal paints i have is this; Vallejo Model Air: 71.062 Aluminium Metallic 71.064 Chrome Metallic 71.065 Steel Metallic 71.072 Gungrey Metallic 71.073 Black Metallic Vallejo Liquid Metal 790 Silver 791 Gold 792 Old Gold 797 Copper Vallejo Game Colour 72.054 Gunmetal So far I was looking at getting; 71.066 Brass Metallic 71.068 Copper Metallic 71.069 Rust Metallic And the Nihilakh Oxide technical (already have a lot of rust pigments from Secret Weapon also). I tend to like the Vallejo paints in general, are there any other paints from the model air/game air series that would go well with the ones listed above to get good brass/bronze/copper? Any suggestions/comments would be helpful, thanks :-) (i also have these GW paints, so can do highlights with them for small areas that don't need to be airbrushed on etc) Leadbelcher Warplock Bronze Auric Armour Gold Flash Gitz Yellow Gehenna's Gold Runefang Steel Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/305020-painting-brassbronzecoppermetal-in-general/ Share on other sites
Razblood
The Air versions of Tinny Tin as well as Charred Brown to mix with Gold for your basecoats would be options. Can't remember if they are in the Model or Game air ranges? Ironwulf
Tinny Tin and Charred Brown are in the Game Color line. At the Warstore, I see that Charred Brown is available in Game Air, but I'm not sure about Tinny Tin as a pre-thinned airbrush color. If it is NOT available, you should still be able to thin it with some airbrush medium and apply it through an airbrush… It just takes a tiny bit more work on your behalf.
