Been playing around a little with Emperor's Children theory crafting, and I've come up with a list I'm reasonably happy with. It's not exactly the most powerful out along the lines of Imperial Fists, Alpha Legion or Raven Guard, but it can pick up quite a decent number. The main centrepoint are the Glaives and its flanking Deredeo's representing a significant portion of firepower, while the Palatines either outflank on foot (using the Deredeo to deploy behind enemy lines in the Anvillus) or use the Anvillus to get a second turn assault. They're not excessively powerful compared to what a tooled unit can look like, but against Tactical Marines and other middle sized middle tier infantry, they're easily capable - their 4 WS5 I5 attacks, with either Rending or AP3 apiece combined with Eidolon's charge makes them lethal.

The Breachers, I just thought it would be kind of cool to make use of them. After all, their downsides are removed by Eidolon and the Emperor's Children.

Seekers are as good as ever. Lacking the combi-plasma tooling, but can still but a dent in a few things with Preferred Enemy Tempest or Scorpius rounds.

Not a super serious army, but one I intend to collect. I painted up a model recently for fun to see how I liked it; an all White base with a Mephiston Red accent on the shoulder pads, layered with Screamer Pink, Highlighted with Pink Horror and washed with Carroburg Crimson to tie it all in together, and a 50/50 Balthasar Gold and Warplock Bronze on top of a brown base.

Trying to think of a decent form of power weapon style as they're pretty centrepiece models when I came across this image and feel in love with the design of the axe colours; the blue colouration looks more like waterfalls than lightning and reminded of "Brotherhood" from Final Fantasy X, so I'm setting out to practise that.

It's intended to be a veteran Terran influenced force, the majority of the models will be white (Book 1 suggests that the White enamel inlay was an ancient tradition back to pre-Fulgrim time, and Eidolon according to the wikia was a Terran veteran as well) with the Purple accents. Although they have their Sonic Shriekers for game purposes, I can either refluff that as their martial ability similar to the Dark Fury Assault Squads or the Night Lords speed at night, and that his Shriek is some form of Terran war-relic.

When I head back to the shop, I'll try and get a picture of the model in some decent light with a decent camera. As yet, I have no models, but as we're starting a new campaign, it gives me a reason to start getting some together, and try and build in 250pt month long chunks; which I've set out as

1; Breacher Squad (255pts) (+5)

2; Breacher Squad (255pts) (+5)

3; 2x Recon Squads (300pts) (+50)

4; Deredeo (220pts), Rhino (+5)

5; Deredeo (220pts), Rhino (+5)

6; 2x Seeker Squads (250pts)

7; Eidolon and Anvillus (285pts) (+35)

8; Palatines and 2 Rhino's (265pts) (+15)

9; Champion, and Whirlwind (200pts) (-50)

10; Glaive (650pts) (650pts) (+400)

So, all told, that's about a years worth of work (+470 extra points = 2 extra months) and when the rebate comes in, the start of my Emperor's Children journey to go with my Alphas.

Double checking, apparently they don't. Well, this is a travesty. With 70 points left, that lets me tool up the Palatine Blades and the Champion a bit more, but I would have preferred to have more Rhino's rather than leaving the other two as pure missile bait. They should have Rhino's as a 1-3 Fast Attack option. Not that that would help this list. Rargh.

Definitely a Phobos in Betrayal, sadly no entry option for anything else directly.  I also wondered why you would include Breachers in a purple list - but hey, I love the models so have been keeping an eye in here hehe :)

I'm surprised you didn't opt for something different like a PotL list so you could take Veterans instead of the Breachers.

It doesn't fit thematically - but rulewise is actually pretty solid, offsetting the downsides of Breachers. Plus is hilarious when you see them hop skip jumping all over the map.

Being fair, Outflank isn't all that useful, and I may just Reserve the Rhinos and go for a Pride of the Legion list. Honestly, the idea came from having an in joke about how the Legionaries would all line up and create a piece of art, maybe putting the Sistene Chapel on the shields, but the shields getting damaged makes the Emperors Children get angrier and angrier as the image gets more and more messed up.

I was thinking of Open Blade Hidden Blade with the obvious threats of the Breachers while Flanking Seeker Assassins and Recon Snipers kill important enemies.

The question woukd be what images to use? Last Supper and Sistene Chapel? Obviously done on paper, I'm not a complete psychopath! Haha.

No way, breachers are definitely something the Emperor's Children would do! "Oh look at those Imperial Fists and their drab shields. How dull.    ......We can do that better. And faster. WITH FLAIR!!!"

Also, Last Supper with the Emperor and his Primarchs or something. Jack the cover of The Primarchs with the whole Ullanor line-up, Fulgrim is on there somewhere. Change the color scale so it's all in white and gold or something?

Before this reply I had no problem with EC bleachers running awith their shields raised high. When your the best if the best of course you can run fast with a slab of metal.

Unfortunately I have read letsYouDown's post. Now all I can see is them moving across the field in time to a broad way musical.

And run two three four, and left two three four and right two three four. Now everyone twirl.
