Should I bother?

Tournament Specs:

This will be a 1550pt double elimination tournament.

Rules: No formations
1 super heavy or lord of war
No forge world
Playing crusade out of rule book
Double elimination
List must be bound
5 turn limit or 1 1/2 hour games
Dice will roll at 12pm
6-8 people can sign up

I have all grey knights, some pieces of inquisition, and my fiance asked to build wolves, so I can finish those before the tournament.  or i can get an imperial knight and put him together to supplement the GK.

I know there will be Dark Eldar, Eldar, and Tau.  What do, B&CS?

Cursory list:

1 Libby, no upgrades

1 term squad, 1 cannon, 1 hammer.

1 purifier squad, 1 hammer

1 Stormraven, lascannon & plasmacannon

5 interceptors

Fill in the rest with NDK.  If I add an IK, i'd drop the interceptors and stormraven.

If I add ally wolves, drop the raven, interceptors, purifiers.

Take up RDs challenge, go pure GK and pwn those filthy Xenos!

Don't worry about that challenge, I officially started my GK army.

Well I'm sure more than one person can take up the challenge.

So you 'offically' started your GK army? I might be officially selling mine. lol

Fun army to pain though, but far more time consuming than I originally thought.

Officially meaning that I got the first models. I often change my mind though if something else inspires me and I might end up just painting them for fun.

What do you mean with too time consuming? You mean regarding painting them? How time consuming can it be to paint 30 models compared to a different army lol? I think you'll regret selling them honestly.

Really? After ~ 2 games?

It's not a 'performance issue'. :)

I won't debate the model count issue. For sure it's nice and small for that, but I actually thought I could whip through these models, and have a full fledged army pretty quick.

I made my own challenge and set myself the task of getting going on this army to a very decent standard, and work every spare minute I could on them until I was done the 13-14 models in my 1K list. It's taking several hours more than I anticpated, because erroneously thought I would be blasting through all the metallics and just highlighting the bits... I was wrong (the sword painting alone just about wore me down.)

But it is none of these things that have me on the fence. This is going to sound incredibly stupid, but ever since I got this army, including the day i started it, I had some incredible bad luck. Some really expensive tickets. Some fairly serious events happened starting on that day, and has continued.

I talked myself into starting the army because I could use a large store credit I had to make it nearly 'free'. On the way home from picking out my 'free' army I got a 250 dollar ticket. lol Since that day it has been downhill ever since.

I never thought of myself as superstitious.... weird. Also there's the giant crate of Chaos and Ultramarines that keep pointing at me and laughing. ;) (that's where I could get the rhino's/razorbacks/dread/Stormraven from for this army).

On satisfaction with this army? Perhaps the biggest downfall I see is not having Grey Knights specific access to units that give you a sense of... diversity.

Like I said, I'm still working very hard on the army, every spare minute, and I plan to take it out for a few more campaign games this weekend. (I'm going to ignore the Daemonkin release as well.)

@Prot: Your story doesn't sound as much stupid as it maybe sounds a bit weird haha. I messed up quite some times too with army choices to be honest, buying an army and then selling it again shortly after, happens to the best man. You can turn around the superstitiousness though by keeping the army and then when your luck turns around, you can put it on you having kept it ;)
