Jolemai
It's in the rulebook :) Basically, it's a bonus to Flat Out. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/305196-the-xiphon-interceptors-rules-are-out/#findComment-3989132 Share on other sites
Reyner
Ta not looked in the rules for ages... depthcharge12
It's definitely a glass cannon. I'd say it'd be super useful if there weren't mortis and Deredeo dreads in abundance. Hesh Kadesh
I like it, even despite how weak its defenses are. But at 205pts? can't help but feel that the Fire Raptor is a better option. Even though it is not Anti Armour Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/305196-the-xiphon-interceptors-rules-are-out/#findComment-3989172 Share on other sites
Krikey
Doesn't the Eye of Horus stamp mean it's for traitor legions only? That must be a mistake (or not mean the same thing as the icons in the books). It's painted with Ultramarine heraldry, after all. ~ K Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/305196-the-xiphon-interceptors-rules-are-out/#findComment-3989189 Share on other sites
sedobren
It looks good as a relic fighter for 40k also. Jinx on 2+? Yes please. in 30k it has many competitors as the avenger strike fighter... By the way it is not so delicate: with the flares it has practically armour 11 on every side. What do you think about the deep strike ability? Seems quite useless in a normal non apocalypse game imho... blackoption
AA Dreads usually have a max of 48 inch range, the Xiphon's missiles reach out and touch something at 60 inches... I'm taking this thing for Apoc games just because of that. Jolemai
One thing that interests me is the name. By adding the word "pattern", it implies that there are either other types of Interceptor or, that there will be other vehicles from Xiphon (whatever that is). Perhaps the Orgus Flyer will become an Orgus pattern Interceptor? depthcharge12
Jinx is also Nicki Minaj- I mean a Pokemon. Jink is the thing you do to avoid being slapped by your girlfriend or wife. Marshal Loss
I actually really like the model, but with tons of fast attack choices already will not be picking any up for my Sons of Horus for now. The rules are pretty cool but it is so, so squishy for the cost. Nova_chron
Is it bad all I see is a BSG colonial viper with big wings.... Brofist
What does supersonic do? It means you move faster when you flat out, but you have to go a minimum of (I think, don't have my book on me) 18". Also you can't hover, so if you deep strike you risk a hishap and can't jink the next turn. Kossaka
Has anyone else noticed the text "In a game played using the Age of Darkness Expansion, a Xiphon pattern Interceptor is available for use in a Space Marine Legion Crusade army as a Fast Attack Choice" on the bottom of the page. does this mean anything or just the usual from Forgeworld? This is a change of text from the extra consul rules that we got a few weeks back. Slips
HH is an expansion for 40k since it uses the same base rules and just adds on or modifies the core. Its just the wording thats changed. The insides of the HH FE books all have "[...]a wh40k supplement" somewhere in there.
