FW Spartan problems.

This is a known problem with the Spartan chassis. Most track links are either going to be too long or too short. They recently fixed their Spartan molds but I believe it was for a hull problem, though that may indirectly affect the track fitting as well.

Did you purchase the Spartan recently?

Lucky enough to get one for my birthday a few weeks ago so yes, recently. If what you say is true about the hull molds then it worked, I've had no issues with that part. I made the mistake of gluing track sections on before checking for fit so I have to persevere. A bit of chopping and filing should see it alright, just a pain.

The tracks are a well known problem.. with A LOT of patience, swearing, superglue, hairdrying and hope i managed to get mine to fit without cutting any links out (On 1) my typhon i just cut links and was done with it..

A fair few people have been asking fw to recut it with thtracks already on like the sicaran but who knows if thatll ever happen

This is slightly worrying, I have a Spartan but purchased it over a year ago. I guess if I needed replacement parts I would be censored.gif 'd. Does anybody know of any third party tracks that would fit? (Mine will probably look kind of Chaos-y anyway I guess as it is primarily for my Black Legion)

I remember Sheep made some Frag Launchers for his excellent SoH Spartan, maybe that could cover up some problems?

With a lot of trimming and some plastic rod I've managed to get the tracks looking OK. I have thought about making some track guard type coverings to mask the problems but that's a whole lot of plastic card and rivets, plus I'm itching to get it painted and on the table. However I'm still unsure which army it's going to join so maybe some extra time building it will give me more pondering time.
