Hydra knowing you they'll end up being raven guard, then iron warriors, then alpha legion, then world eaters again, and then finally imperial fists. As always love the models I like your more calm looking world eaters then forgeworlds preference to always having them skipping to their next opponent always pushing over other marines to get there.

(...) forgeworlds preference to always having them skipping to their next opponent always pushing over other marines to get there.

Sorry, I read this and all I can picture is a group of World Eaters skipping arm in arm through a rubble-strewn city, happy music playing in stark contrast to the blood and explosions as they decapitate marine after marine. Gonna have some strange dreams tonight.

ARRRGGGHHHH!!!! I had to buy a Deredero boat boob dread with AC's and the launcher... I think it will look dead sexy in yellow and standing next to a Mortis AC Contemptor in yellow.

Im looking at a Flamer support squad, a Fire raptor, an Archeon and a Deredero for my ETL pledge.

I think the squad leader is displaying the helmet he'd just ripped from the decapitated head of some unfortunate Ultramarine officer.

As for the marine in the back, possible he's reaching for a sheathed combat blade - that area fits one perfectly. That or he's using the Legion-approved chain-backscratcher.

I think you should do round shields for your breachers. JackDaw made some really pretty BA breachers with round shields, if you want some inspiration. Should be somewhere near the end of the thread, possibly p14?

Hope this helps.

Hi Dallo, I follow Jackdaws thread, it is really cool, the stuff he does and I like his shields.

I am going for flat round shields as I reckon the slightly domed round shields would lok too Spartan/ Greek

I'll get some card and do some mock ups later of kite and round. I have some 40K marines with me, so I can judge size with those. The real test will be when I get home and actually have the breachers in hand. I only reallyhave 5 breachers, but for variety I got some mark 4 destroyers with the heavier plate and the upgrade set, so I can use them as breachers also.

Could mean I have 10 spare shields :)

Need to check the rule book, but can anyone tell me if 30K assault marines carry storm or combat shields? I plan on magnetising the pistol hand so I can swap shields in for running Wolf Guard in 40K or claws :D.

I want to use the shield asa kind of visual identifier or motif for my army, and considered puttin them on the backpacks, but the FW is so beautiful, I do not want to obscure all that detail.

Hey Hydra, two questions:

1. Why is your sgt/champion carrying his helm out in front of himself like that?

2. Is that guy in the back right of the group using a back scratcher? Do those things even work through power armour?

Bah. Don't put doubt into my mind.

1. Its not his helm

2.reaching for knife

3. Nails ticking....

This must have already been posted somewhere but when does the ETL run until?

August though I don't know what day.

ETL is three months, May 1st through August 1st. The Official Forum Strategems will have a specific time as well.

Cheers,

Jono

I actually thought it was an "at rest" pose and he had the helm propped against his knee, looks pretty good.

If its is a trophy, maybehave half a head poking out the bottom or a head on the base, as if it is sliding out of the helm?

The guy at the back is scratching his head in confusion cos he wants to kill something, but he is surrounded by squad-mates.. He istrying to work out if he should kill them or not

It was honestly a picture of motivation....

The helm is being held out in front. Should become more apparent when painted. I hope. If not he will be pointing.

I kind of just grouped them like that for the pic. Still have another 6 to build for my first vow.

30k Assault Marines can all take combat shields for slightly less than the price of a Meltabomb :)

I meant more for getting the general idea of what round shield breachers look like, not that you should use the same shields, as ike you said, they have Greek influences which don't really work with 30k Wolves.

I apologize for my noobish temerity in asking this of such an august group of veteran hobbyists buts I be's new. where are or what are the rules and stipulations for this etl I have never participated in one before and I paint poorly and slow but I would be honored to contribute to the glory of the horus heresy forum if some one would but show me the way

The unmitigated noobish temerity! tongue.png

Essentially you vow to paint some models (legal units only). They are worth their points cost, which goes towards the sub-forum's total score. You can pledge as many models as you like, but fail to finish one, and you don't get any points.

Hope this clears things up a bit. Feel free to ask any further questions.
