ETL IV (Propaganda, motivation and preperation Thread)

ETL is going to be the time for me to finally incorporate something I've wanted to do for a while. Calling it "Before We Were Dragons" - with the exception of the few I might do which already have specific iconography (Cassian Dracos, Ancient Grenn, Firedrakes), all models I do for ETL will be from before Vulkan was master of the XVIIIth,  when the Legion was known as the Saturnyne Rams.

I have 39 Ravens; centurion, 19 tacticals, 5 destroyers, 8 dark furies, 6 mor dreythan.

26 blood Angels and 4 blood angel tanks; 2 vet tac squads, sanguinary guard command squad, my interpretation of Azkaellon, 2 rhinos, predator vindicator

And a gaggle of fists to finish.

I wouldn't even know where to being with a Reaver, Atia, so more power to you on that thing. I'm trying to figure out exactly what I'm doing with a Knight, lol. Much more comfortable with tanks, not walkers...

Aias, just think of it as a BIG HONKING ASTARTES!!

Problem is, Astartes are small enough that the poor-quality freehand I do gets hidden a little bit. On something that big? I'm gonna have to step my game up to a degree I don't know if I can or not. We'll see later this summer, once I get my ETL vows out of the way msn-wink.gif

I am going to love seeing that Reaver done.

I have finally worked out my colour scheme and designs for my vowed Knight Castigator.

I reckon I can knock it out in 1 week-10 days, as I have to do it all with paint brushes.

Tried some freehand.

Think I got it

About 80% done on the Knight. A lot of mistakes, but I have learned ready for my ETL vowed Knight Castigator smile.png

Oh nice. Is it your first airbrush or is it an upgrade?

I am still at "spray can" level biggrin.png

my first :-P can't wait to test it out wub.png

That'll make the both of us. Getting my first one today but means that I can't models for the next week.

Can't wait to see the reaver!

Very nice! I have one, though I'm using it for base coating large vehicles right now, and will use for camo on my two new Baneblades once I get to that point, hopefully in August.

Got most everything together, so hard to resist the urge to paint (has started basecoating the Gal Vorbak before I saw this thread and stopped!). Until the ETL begins, they are going to be in this box out of my sight so I don't give in and paint something.

I know the feeling, Z. Just primer'd my Sicaran and Deimos Pred today, to go along with an RT Vindicator for vow #1, and dayum do I want to start slapping paint! Luckily, the girlfriend has a non-40K modeling project she's wanted me to do for about a year, so I can use it as a distraction (well, when I'm not assembling/primering models for vows #2+).
