I play on throwing my hat into the HH ring this year and explore my Night Lords before their fall...or maybe I might take them another route entirely and redo everything I have already done...

@ Captain Semper:

can we use Assassins as part of our Age of Darkness vow? like the kill-team from Nemesis?

The HH team can only use units from FW HH lists which currently means no assassins. If however the Tempest comes out during the life of the ETL and has assassins in it then it'll be fine. Otherwise I'm afraid it's a no...

Edit: I'm waiting for units to cover the Imperial Agents FOC slot since Betrayal...

Ok so I think I understand what you mean, but by pledging does that mean sending the models to a given location?

If you send me any models my wife will call the mob and have my legs broken. :D

On a more serious note what you do is, you take a "before" pic of your vow (this should be up to undercoating level) and post it along with your vow declaration in a special thread that I will put up in every forum called the "Strategium". Once you complete the vow (i.e. painted the pledged units to the best of your ability), you take an "after" pic and post it again in the Strategium thread to mark your completion. You can then move to another vow if you wish (you can do up to 5) but be aware that if you fail to complete your second or any subsequent vow then all you previously completed vows will be nullified and will count for nothing!

I had considered this for a unit I'm gearing up to make, but then I realized there's a problem:  since I don't play (and don't really plan on it anytime soon) there are no rules or point values for what I want to build. :(

Well, that's no problem at all! I too hardly play any games these days... :(

So if you want the extra motivation and generally be a part of the fun process that is the ETL, you can work out the unit(s) you intend to do and I'll happily provide you with a points total for it. Alternatively you can still play along through an out-of-competition entry, meaning you paint what you want, (legal unit, non-legal unit - whatever) and you would still be eligible for the Custos Fidei if you make it (or the dreaded Oathbreaker badge if you fail :P). The only catch is that out-of-competition entries do not contribute to the Faction's total.

So unless you plan to build something totally exotic, I suggest to drop me a PM with the description of your vow (or ask publicly - it's the same thing) and I or any other Frater can give you the points value of your pledge! :)

I'd strip it and turn it into a warmachine of the IVth

This is heresy! THIS IS MADNESS!

You sir just earned yourself a duel slap, and since our hands are iron, you will feel the burn of your shame twofold!

Choise your weapons of choice you slack jawed daffodil!

Alrighty I choose my sledge hammer (counts as thunderhammer) my 2 part epoxy components for blasting joints (counts as melta bomb) and I'll be mounted in my excavator with ripper teeth (counts as bike)

Or

We can challenge each other to a personal challenge gor ETL

The less messy option is probably for the best. It also doesn't involve one of you flying across the Pacific...

As it turns out, I am a HUGE fan of Masterchef Australia. Wouldn't mind that at all.

However, in the spirit of competition, a personal ETL challenge would be highly appropriate and potentially motivational. What are you terms, denizen of vertically challenged high and smelling of elderberries?

Id be good for some interfrater personal challenges. Will help me stay motivated, especially now work has gone mental (purge the weeds, burn the seedlings, kill the lawns... Wait too much zeal). Itd be nice for an extra boost of encouragement when faith in existance has been sapped for another day

Iron Hands have plenty of Spare Iron Gauntlets to slap duels with brother.

Hmmm maybe a centurion from a legion not of our respective loyalties just to irritate us.

We've seen hyaenidae lead by example maybe we do something similar or maybe I should repaint my BA fell blade to that of an Iron warrior

Oh men in tightes how I love thee. I need all the motivation I can get because I'm a grade A procrastinator. FIGHT ME!!! We killed so many of you at isstavan IV I'm surprised any of you are still walking!

Night Lord Contribution in the Heresy is only second to that of the Emperor's Children really. I dare you to paint half as many point as I will ;)

Aye, I can paint an Iron Warrior if such a more void of interest thing is possible ;)

2500 points? Oh how will I fund this? "This just in. Man in California mortgages house for more resin!" The only thing I can think of to get to that level is spam buy terminators on ebay.

Fine, since you play a depraved legion and clearly lack organizational skills, How about this : Make an Iron Hand, I'll do a Night Lord. Here's the kicker, only as a second vow, so you must complete your first ;)

I like your way of thinking wolf_pack.

I'd strip it and turn it into a warmachine of the IVth

A duel? Cousin, you might want to reconsider. The brethren of the IV Legion don't waste time with your frail concepts of honour. show up alone with a charnabal sabre, and you'll most likely be facing a 20 man firing squad.

So vow summary

Do a miniature of your nemesis's legion, after the completion of your first vow and say minimum 500 pts for the first Vow?

So far I have:

Kurama - A IV legionnaire

ThatOneMarshal - A depraved Night Lord

And pending, Helterskelter?

The Iron Tenth is tireless, any other fleshbags what to defy the might of the Omnissiah and have their motivation soar?

the fact that you hold faith in the false machine god, in the face of the imperial truth, proves your legions weakness. your breed are just lucky that Lorgar ruined his sons. had he not, I am confident that medusa would have burned under the cold gaze of the Iconoclasts.

count your imaginary machine blessings, brother of the flesh-spare.
