So after finally getting over being sick with one thing after another & deciding this morning about an hour before hand to attend a local tournie, the following is a rough break down of the day for the Glory of Russ.

First off, my army was a Rune Priest w/ MB's & Psychic Hood 3 WG TDA packs each in a LR & 2 LRC's w MM's. Each pack was 2x ST.B. & PW & one TH. H & St. Sh.. Also their was a Sicarian w/LC sponsons, a Predator Annhilator, a BC pack w/Flamer in a Storm Grr as well as an IP. Low model count but seeing as I had heard one of the armies was going to be 3 Knight Titans led by a Warhound Titan, I figured what the hell. I haven't played since before Xmas so it would be nice to play some games for the fun of it.

My first game ended up being against an old buddy I had not seen in a couple of years due to life. He came with an unbound list of 5 Defilers, 3 Hell Brutes & 4 Oblits in 2 squads of 2. Amazing game is all I can say. Due to new way the TO had set up the battle points system we spent the whole game reminding each other what the heck we were doing & had a blast. His Warlord was one of the Defilers. I've never seen so many Battle Cannons shells fail to penetrate enemy tanks in my life. The poor guys dice did not warm up till the last 2 turns of the game. The first 2 turns of the game saw my 3 LR's take 9 battle cannon shots for 2 hull points & a crew shaken result. THe game was based on 3 objectives spaced 2 ft apart down the ctr. of the table with Dawn of War deployment.  By turn 3 we had managed to over come the difficult terrain tests(neither one of us advanced more then 3 inches per turn for the first 2 turns) & clashed in the ctr.. By then I had managed to kill all 3 Hell Brutes & a Defiler He got lucky on some charge rolls & managed to assault my LR's with predictable results, popping 2 of 3. By that time though I had worn his Defilers down to 1 or 2 hull points each. Out came my WG TDA packs & managed to put down 2 of 4 Defilers for the loss of one pack of TDA. Thank the All Father for Storm Shields is all I can say. At this point, the Storm Grr finally shows up on bottom of turn 3. From there it went down hill for Chaos though his Warlord Defiler made It Will Not Die rolls every turn so in the end I ended up doing something silly like 9 HP's of damage to it. THe game ended on Turn 5 with the Storm Grr flying down the ctr of the table unloading TL MM's for the kill on his Warlord leaving him 3 Oblits on the table for 7 of 9 WG TDA, 2 LRC's the Pred.

The game was scored on holding the 3 objectives for a point each at the end of each player's turn starting turn 2, 1 point if you had a model left on the table, 2 pts if you fought an Unbound &/or Super Heavy as well as a point for Slay the Warlord, First Blood & Line Breaker. Wolves win 9 to 6.

I'll try to post the other 2 battles a little more coherently tommorow.

OK. Now that I've had some sleep I'll see if I can be a little more coherent for the second battle. There was 4 objectives this time, one in each table quarter & again only started scoring at the end of your turn 2. But this round saw the objectives worth 2 pts each. Deployment was diagonal this time(sorry-away from my rule book) & I ended facing an unbound army of Orks & Eldar, so 2 battle pts for me before the game even started. Roughly he had a Spirit Seer, D-cannon battery, 3 War Walkers, A Wave Serpent w/ Dire Avengers, a Fire Prism, Wraith Knight, a squad of Striking Scorpions, 2 Gun Trucks, a mob of Boyz in a truck, big mob of Lootas, 2 Shokk Attack Gunzs(?), another ork artillery pc., 2 Deff Coptas, & a mob of boyz on bikes.

So, set up with Pred & 1 LRC w/ WG TDA on left, Sicarian sitting behind second LRC in some ruins in the middle & my LR just the other side of those ruins with WG TDA, the IP & the RP. I rolled Pregonition & took Prescience for my powers & forgot to use them the whole game. Dooohhhh. He set up with his Wraith Knight, Fire Prism & Wave Serpent on my right, the Lootas down in the corner with his 2 shokk Attack guns behind them all on low hill with trenchs. In the middle he set up truck boys, 2 gun trucks & the biker boys. On the left in some ruins he set up his D-cannon with his Spirit Seer & 3 War Walkers. He held his Scorpions & Deff Coptas in reserve.

So, after winning the roll to go first the sneaky Xenos scum stole the init & rolled forward with his Wraith knight, Fire Prism on my right, the boyz mob in their truck & the Ork Bikers up the middle & his War Walkers jumped up on top the wall/roof the ruins to fire at my LRC screening my Pred before using their Xenos trickery to jump back behind the wall out of site except for one. Even with Scatter Lasers of the various Eldar units giving rerolls to the sundry of Lances & what not, I ended up losing only 2 hull pts on different LR's & one was shaken. His D-cannon was short by 2 inches. His Lootas scared the crap out of me with 33 shots at the Sicarian but as the dust settled, it lost a single hull point though the ruins it was sheltering in were much more ruined. I made an incredible 7 cover saves. I knew I better get this game under control because that kind of luck never lasts. So I pushed forward with my LRC & Pred on the left, in the ctr. I pushed forward with the LRC in the center & positioned it to screen the Sicarian from the Lootas & take on the truk boys & bikers. On my right, I jumped the IP out of the LR & moved him toward the Sicarian, running him in the shooting phase getting out of site behind some boulders. The Pred started things off with blowing one of the Gun Trukks to smithereens getting me First Blood. The LRC in front of it managed to knock the other Gun trukk down to 1 HP & used the POMS to fire the off side Hurricane bolters at the War Walkers doing 1 HP. The center LRC deployed its WG TDA & opened up with everything but one hurricane bolter at the trukk 6 inches in front of it & reduced it to 1 HP. Luck only lasts so long. On the upside, this must have angered the POMS as it opened up on the bikers who were within 12" with the Hurricane Bolter, killing 4 of them even with their jink saves. THis left the last 4 to fall to the guns of the Sicarian. On my right, the LR bravely stood in its grounds in the ruins, blazing away at the Wraith Knight for 1 HP of damage. And lastly, in the ctr. the WG TDA pack that was standing in front of the truck that should have been destroyed & its boyz laid out ready to be charged, shrugged their shoulders & opened up their 2 storm Bolters & managed to glance the last HP, wrecking the trukk & finally spilling the boyz out. The 3 WG howled their defiance & set themselves to be charged.

Turn 2: THis  saw one of the Ork Deff Koptas show up behind my Pred but the other Deff Kopta & Striking Scorpions did not show. The War Walkers jumped back up on the wall to shoot at my advancing on their position & the objective they were guarding, jumping down to hold the objective after shooting. THe last Gun Trukk rolled forward into cover in the center while the Wraith Knight strode forward through  some ruins towards an objective, some how ending just shy of it. For some reason, the Fire Prism took cover & the Wave Serpent shifted over to the center. Shooting started with the War Walkers blazing away at the LRC for another HP. The D-cannon scattered & missed. In the center, the Wave serpent opened up at the WG with its Scatter lasers & Shuriken cannon managing to kill 2 of them. THe Gun Trukk opened up at the LRC behind the WG, missing & scattering back on the boys in the wreck of the trukk, killing all but one, causing the lone WG to shake his head in amusement. The Lootas opened up at the same LRC with 22 shots for.....nothing. New paint job but no damage. On the right, the Wraith Knight scored several hits on the LR but either could not penetrate the LR's thick hide or bounced it's shots off the ruins it was in. In the assault phase, the Nob with the power claw left from the Trukk charged my WG TDA impaling himself on the WG's sword. My opponent said he was done & we added up battle pts. He controlled one objective with his War Walkers for a 2 pts, he controlled another his his ork artillery in his DZ for another. So, 3 to 4 for him. At this pt. the TO reminded us that the objectives were all mysterious. So we agreed to roll right away & figure things out. His objective by the ork artillery & lootas was Sabotaged, promptly killing 3 Lootas, the one guarded by the War Walkers was a Grav Generator, the one the Sicarian was guarding was a Scatter Field. THe last one was still unknown.

Going into my turn 2, the Storm Grr failed to arrive so my Wolves pushed on. On the left, the LRC pushed onto the objective guarded by the War Walkers, unloading the WG TDA while the Pred spun on the spot to shoot the Deff Kopta that we both had forgotten about. In the center, the lone WG advanced on the last Gun Trukk while the LRC advanced out of the ruins to shoot at the Wave Serpent's side. On the right, my LRC advanced on the last objective not known unloading the WG TDA. Lastly, the IP made it to the Sicarian and started on restoring a HP. Shooting started with the LR on the right opening up at the Fire Prism, scoring a HP of damage. In the center, the LRC fired its Assault Cannon at the War Walkers, killing one & the POMS shooting the hurricane bolter on its off side at the Lootas, killing 2 more. The Pred blew the Deff Kopta out of the sky while the the LRC opened up Dcannon but it was to well dug in to do any good. The Wave Serpent escaped harm but the other LR managed to do another HP to the Fire Prism. THe WG TDA ran, securing the last objective, discovering it to be a Scatterfield. In the assault phase, the WG TDA on the left powered through the extra gravity of the generator smashing into the War Walkers, destroying 2 with the pack's Thunder Hammer, while the lone WG in the  in the middle assaulted the Gun Trukk, carving it apart with his power sword. Adding up the pts., I had the 2 objectives on my side of the table plus the one the War Walkers had been guarding for 6 pts taking it to 9 to 4 for the Wolves.

Turn 3: This turn saw the last of the Xenos reserves arrive in the form of the last Deff Kopta & the squad of Striking Scorpions. Both of which came on the table to my left, the Scorpions coming on as close to the D-Cannon & the Spirit Seer as possible while the Deff Kopta came in near my back table edge clearly gunning for the Sicarian. THe Wraith Knight & the Fire Prism closed in on the WG guarding the objective on my right while the Lootas & Shokk Attack guns closed in on the objective at the edge of their deployment zone. The Wave Serpent moved in support of the Wraith Knight. THe Wraith Knight & Fire Prism managed to destroy the LR backing up the TDA while the Wave Serpent deployed its Dire Avengers & between the two, managed to kill WG guarding that objective. THe Dcannon tried to shoot the the LRC while the Spirit Seer shot at the advancing WG trying to take the objective back but failing in both. The Deff Kopta moved into sight of the Sicarians rear armour & let loose, managing to destroy the precious war machine but failing to kill the IP beside it. The assault phase saw the Scorpions make a desperate long range assault attempt but failing utterly due to the Grav Field. Counting up the points saw him with the objective on his side & the one on my right side that Wraith Knight, Fire Prism & Wave Serpent had cleared for 4 pts., making 9-8 in my favour.

The Storm Grr finally arrived this turn, zooming over the Wraith Knight & Fire Prism, arrowing in on the the dwindling Lootas & Shokk Attack Gun in his deployment zone. In the middle, the LRC that had been protecting the Sicarian reversed slewing around to bring its weapons to bear on the Deff Kopta & in range of the objective. On the left, the last LRC & the Pred spun to face the Scorpion Squad trying to make it into CC with the WG advancing on the Spirit Seer. After the smoke cleared, the Scorpions & Deff Kopta where no more. THe Storm Grr weeded out the Lootas around their objective but they were to numerous to deny it. THe WG fired on the D-cannon & the Spirirt Seer trying to protect it managing a wound. In the assault phase, the WG slammed into the D-cannon & the Spirit Seer & wiping the unit from the table, giving me slay the War Lord. Victorious, they consolidated back onto the objective ending the turn. Looking at the objectives, I had the one the Sicarian had been guarding now looked after by the the LRC & the Grav Field the Eldar had been guarding. With Slay the Warlord, that was 5 pts making it 14 to 8 for the Wolves. At this pt. the TO announced time for that round. My opponent & I looked at each other in shock as we both had not heard the 1/2 hr warning. Game done.

This game was just lucky for me as my opponent waffled with some of his Eldar units. Talking with him after the game, he said he was just really intimidated by all the tanks. His plan was to push hard the turn 4 & 5 but admitted I had done enough damage to make that risky. Having come off badly against Wraith Knights before, I was not going to complain. He should have stomped me on that table edge but because of his fear of the the other LRC & the Sicarian(mainly the Sicarian) he kept to cover as much as possible. So round 2 ends with a win for the Wolves but my last battle saw me draw against a sneaky Eldar Dark Eldar combo that boasted over 100 models in his army.
