Space Marines are battle brothers with GK...

Yes but one of the "resteictions" is that all allies, including running two detachments/formations from the same faction, counts as allies of convenience no matter what the normal level of alliance is.

Yep. I mean, it slightly nerfs Necrons, as they have to play with CAD, not with Decurion. But they're still strong as hell anyway, and Eldar/Tau/Daemons/Nids are completely unaffected by the other restrictions. Only two Riptides? Kek. Doesn't stop people taking two Missileside Teams in heavy. Only two Wraithknights? Oh noes, that's the normal number you see.

So they put restrictions on MC's, If there are going to be other SM players there, it would seem they won't suffer. I say don't go. Especially when they're handicapping you by making everything AoC, meaning you can't use the old allied drop pod trick. Don't go, it won't be fun.

Have you considered filling up on purifiers and sticking them in a Raven or 2? Surely there's more than enough to spend your points on :p

Yep, I'm thinking of it but I have to admit that I've been underwhelmed by purifiers so far. I've had some bad warp charge rolls when manifesting cleansing flame, when I got it off I always rolled below average on number of hits and then they die too easily for their points cost.

I still think I will run five in either a storm raven or a razorback though.

That's what I would do. Bad luck aside, I'm finding Cleansing Flame to be the great equalized against hordes of junk in cover. I find in games where this isn't relevant, the psychic focus just shifts to something else.... but those 2 WCs from the Purifiers are always useful.
