HH Skitarii - collection of ideas

Hmm termites can easily borrow drop-pod rules.

yep :p

We need some stats for the M.U.L.E. (i'm picturing a techpriest transport version with 2 mechanical arms and battlesmith with a +2 roll)

we can use the basic stats from the Onager (without the energy-field?)

We might want the Ferrovore from the short story Kryptos for Dark Mechanicus Skitarii.

oh yeah, these things were awesome :P

We need a Feral Skitarii gene-bulked close assault unit.

my idea was to use the Praetorians as such an unit:

Skitarii Praetorians (some heavier type of CC skitarii with phosphex pistols?)

i've added the Ferrovore and the Warlord Titan to the list ;)

I know it is early days yet, but have you thought about a forge world of origin selection? Like choosing a particular legin you can chose a forge world and gain some benefits and restrictions.

that idea is great :) that would be like the special rules for the Space Marine Legions. Also, that's something we could do even if FW releases an official Skitarii list :P

howdy brothers and sisters!

little busy this month, but here are some thoughts:

-) we should really wait for Tempest, and see what kind of new mechanicum units and lists are there!

-) a Titan Legion/Forgeworld specific appendix (like the Legiones Astartes rules) is something i really want to do!

-) some kind of Titan Maniple Detachment would be cool too tongue.png

-) with the upcoming release of Codex: Cult Mechanicum, we will get another bunch of 40k specific units without 30k specific rules - and another list i want to have alongside the Skitarii (hallo ?, Electropriests are one of the best oldschool units!)

-) the new Codex: Imperial Knights will add the Warden and the Crusader, althought i'm sure that FW will make 30k rules for them (like they did with the Paladine/Errant)

One other thought: It might be worthwhile looking at expanding the Ordo Reductor list into a fully independant force, rather than the effectively ad-hoc, allied formation it is now. This is an admittedly selfish suggestion, as I love the concept of the Ordo Reductor.

If done (and yes, I agree we should wait for Tempest), I could see them getting a Mechanicus equivalent of Destroyer units: Maybe a Thallax variant armed with rad grenades, phosphex, and other nasties that even the Legions won't touch?

In the Rogue Trader RPG there are Murder Servitors. Nasty close combat servitors quite useful in voidship boarding actions. If these date back to the heresy (I'd have to check the book but i think they are meant to be quite old)  they might be a good addition to HH Zone Mortalis games.

Murder Servitors are already part of the game smile.png you can use them as a Zone Mortalis Strategem tongue.png (or was it for void "zone mortalis" battles?)

howdy all :)

just want to jump in and say my idea/plan isn't dead :P

while tempest hasn't any rules for us, it still mentions them atleast twice:

"perhaps the most widespread of the ordo reductor's creations is however the thallaxii, heavily augmented cybernetic shock troops created by the Ordo Reductor to replace the skitarii legions of Mars, to which, owing to their now seperated status, they no longer had direct or ready access to for support."

and

"not all of a titans legion's subjects serve within the mighty god-engines, for many more fight in their shadow. each forgeworld us served by massive cohorts of skitarii, scutarii and secularis, and these are often assigned to provide the titan legions with massed ground forces capable of performing the battlefield duties which the titans themselves are too large to perform."

furthermore, the codex cult mechanicus gives us more ideas of homebrew mechanicum models:

- Fulgurite Electro Priests

- Corpuscarii Electro Priests

- Kataphron Servitors (with alternate/new weapons?)

- Kastellan Robots (i'll come to them later)

Wow, theres a lot to like in that pic.

1. That RG looks like hes properly rebuilt, someone messed him up at some point.

2. The Salamander has normal flesh tones vs the jet black we've been seeing since..too long.

3. Skitarii!

4. Some Volkite chooming in the background.

I like that picture. :]

Now for the dislike? BL Exclusive = Limited = Novella = $70. (All my own assumptions.)
