ThatOneMarshal Posted April 17, 2015 Author Share Posted April 17, 2015 Thanks everone I discovered the transfers down on the PCA forum so that saved me a lot. @Infranya thank you so much for that idea I even have a tactical squad still in its box that I can use! I was going to devote it to my black templars but after seeing the new eldar rules I don't want to play regular 40k anymore lol. I'm looking at the various lists in the army list section and it seems that night lord players really love their Mortis contemptor dreads. No one seems to be taking deredos is this because the Mortis was basically the old deredo and they haven't moved to the deredo? The deredo seems to be better rules wise but it's so damn ugly. It's that damn torso that messes with me. I don't think you can use a contemptor torso as replacment.if anyone has a good conversion for it I'm all ears. I love the contemptor model it looks so awsome. I was wondering if I should go with the generalist build that slips has shown or should I go with double fists? I don't know really the generalist contemptor has six shots and a grav cannon shot and then two to three attacks in cc. So if I go with that build I'll want it to be more of a fire support unit? Also just realized that for the price of the deredo I can buy kurze. But I'm not because I would rather start a bit slower than that. Thanks everone for the help! Slips Posted April 17, 2015 Share Posted April 17, 2015 The reason most NL lists in the List section don't include Deredeos is that it wasn't out when the majority of them were made. Also, 1HS slot in Terror Assault means that its either a Deredeo or a Fire Raptor (or other HS unit) in most cases. infyrana Posted April 17, 2015 Share Posted April 17, 2015 Another idea if you're really strapping for cash etc, if you decide you absolutely don't want the Dere, but do want the Contemptor and the option of AA, grab both Kheres and scrounge around for a spare Dreadnought CCW arm. Lots kicking about from all these new kits with extra weapons. My thought is - if you can be bothered when you're magnetising the dual Kheres is that you can make it so you are able to jerryrig a basic dread arm in place of the Kheres, cut off the end of a gravgun barrel and pop it in the middle of the fist, and voila, saves you another few squid. Gives you contemptor mortis or versatile shoot'n'smash to play around in games with. ThatOneMarshal Posted April 18, 2015 Author Share Posted April 18, 2015 Finally figured it out. The deredo it is for me. I asked myself do I need anti air? Sand then I had all these horrible memories of heldrake coming and roasting my black tides of space marine, vendettas destroying my vehicles, ork planes dropping horrible bombs and so forth. I ended up asking myself which one seems more detective and I figured the deredo would be. Also after looking at wolf_packs deredo I like the look of it more, it just need some minor converting. Puts some fun stuff on the torso, give it a skull helmet, have it's legs look more dynamic, stuff like that. When I do my next order whenever that is ill probably do an armored supplement of contemptors And support units like night raptors. Hell maybe I'll get myself a fire raptor.
