Prot
Hey guys, I've been trying to compile a short list for myself of stuff to read, and get acquainted with. I had the first Ben Counter novel, and lost it, so I just picked up Ben Counter's Grey Knight Omnibus. I've also been through the actual codex a few times and I really enjoyed how they wrote them this time around. Some of the behind the scenes stuff... the Malcador stuff... the Emperor's foresight of things to come.... it's good stuff. I'm only halfway through the first novel of the Omnibus but I'm wondering what you guys thought of it? What about other novels and stand alone stories? How about Audio Books? I just finished listening to True Name and while it isn't earth shattering fiction it does give good insight into the whole value of a True Name sort of thing. Any other recommendations, good or bad would be appreciated. Everon
Emperors Gift is a good one. Witness and Sacrifice show a bit more about how much goes into the sons of titan. Kaldor Draigo was just a time filler, but at least it showed the warp may link back to fantasy Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/306026-grey-knights-fiction-references-and-reviews/#findComment-4006151 Share on other sites

Deamon Wolf
the omibus is good for the first 2 book the 3rd took me a while to read ( didnt like the story) the Emperors Gift is brilliant and give a little in the background for the knight of titan , Pandorax is a good one with lost of Kaldor Dragio and Inquisition in it ( too much Dark Angels and not enough killing of the Heretics ) shows how the inquisition get over their head too quickly and need the support of Ture deamon hunters and tag alongs as well ( Dark Angels ) Maladictus is ok shows how a Strike / Terminaor squad is deployed aya from Titan ( also shows the roles of Justiocar , Librain and Vetrain ) True name and incorruptable ( both using the same cast as maladictus ) are good fun but way too short but are deff worth a listen too the Ebook for Dragio not worth the £2.99 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/306026-grey-knights-fiction-references-and-reviews/#findComment-4008107 Share on other sites
Aethernitas
If you want some background about the founding of the Inquisition you can listen to all the Garro and Knight Errant audio books from the Black Library. THey are set in the 30K Horus Heresy Era but you pretty much follow the spiritual (and literal) fathers of the Inquisition and the Grey Knights.
