Nrthstar
Assembled Box two of three, read this thread and just thought.... Fuuuuuuuudge. I wish I had left the upper body separate from the lower for painting. But I really wanted two full squads to run with my wolves asap. I strictly use super glue now though so at least I could pop them apart if I need to. marshall Egregorius
I will be using sub assemblies for my incoming boxes. Hail Ryza, Hail Ommnissiah, Deus ex Machina, brothers! Grimdeath
Yeah, I feel your pain also. I was expecting more special weapons in the kit as well. Definitely steering you towards buying multiples. CommodusXIII
I guess I'm just used to the old troop boxes, where you got 1 special weapon choice and that's it - the rest had to be bought in blisters separately. Having all three, even if it's only one of each, is a comparative luxury. Vel'Cona
That's a good point. It used to be annoying getting your special weapons in, especially heavy weapons, because they were all separate metal models/bits and you had to get most of them in blisters. I remember scrounging for Plasma Guns back when they were god-like. That said, I think Arc Rifles are going to be a super hot commodity coming up, because they're easily the best of the three options (lowest cost, amazing for whittling down ANYTHING with AV, usable on the move, not useless against non-vehicle units because of S6). CommodusXIII
I put arquebi in my Rangers unit because it really fit with their background as stand-off snipers. That said, I'm really digging both the Arc Rifle and Plasma Caliver on the Vanguard. I have a huge soft spot for plasma weaponry, but the thought of hitting someone with a lightning bolt is extremely entertaining. Charlo
How many pairs of weapon arms are there in this? For example are there ten of the stock vanguard weapons (with two arms each) and ten of the ranger weapons with the same? CommodusXIII
I don't have a sprue in front of me, but generally: 10 of each basic rifle in two-handed pose 1 of each basic rifle in one-handed pose 1 of each special weapon in two-handed pose 1 of each pistol 1 of each close combat weapon 1 datatether 1 omnispex 1 pointing finger Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/306040-vanguardranger-kit/page/2/#findComment-4020172 Share on other sites
CommodusXIII
Also, the plasma caliver and arc rifle have unique backpacks. The datatether has an additional bit for one specific backpack with more antennas, but it is optional. Charlo
Perfect, going to try and make some Guardsmen I'm not using for anything else stretch into some Vanguard/ Rangers by Kit swapping. Skitarii are mean't to be varied anyway! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/306040-vanguardranger-kit/page/2/#findComment-4020215 Share on other sites
Apostle of the 30th Host
Both the basic guns also have a version where they are just the gun and no arm; like the IG HWT lasguns. Could use either with the Guardsman throwing a grenade pose and the are that the lasgun would have slotted in to.
