eclipseone
Hey guys,I'm just getting back into 40k; I usually build scale models. But I had to have a change of pace and decided to paint these guys up for my NEW army! I'm no good at faces, still learning, hell I'm still learning how to paint this small. You guys are wizards.http://i370.photobucket.com/albums/oo149/eclipseone6/image_zpst4jjqt6c.jpghttp://i370.photobucket.com/albums/oo149/eclipseone6/image_zpsdol1qkcz.jpghttp://i370.photobucket.com/albums/oo149/eclipseone6/image_zpsuxfjkuko.jpghttp://i370.photobucket.com/albums/oo149/eclipseone6/image_zpso1plkteo.jpgComments welcome! Firepower
Oh, so vibrant :) The faces don't look that bad, but why leave the shoulders solid black? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/306093-thunderwolf-cavalry/#findComment-4007422 Share on other sites
eclipseone
Thanks for the comment! I messed around with yellow but I didn't have the right yellow to make it work. Went with black instead, plus the yellow made it almost too busy. Firepower
You've got more options than yellow and flat black. Besides, at least a Chapter or Great Company emblem would be something. It really looks like you just forgot to paint them. On another note, a mild washing may help with the wolves. A soft sepia or brown wash will help define all that texture, especially in the lighter beige regions. And thanks to the fur, it's super easy to do. Just drop in the wash, then run a q-tip along the grain of the fur, so you leave only what's left in the recesses. You'll be able to shade the recesses while keeping the smooth, vibrant color that way. eclipseone
Yes I may throw a decal on. I washed the wolves with that exact color you're quoting. You can see it on their feet. Feet were white to begin with :) The wash didn't bring down the 4 colors I airbrushed down especially the dark red brown. But black wouldn't work either Edit: also that company logo is white but this kit didn't come with any white decals. Ideas ?
