Frater Cornelius
I always wondered. How do you get Imperial Knights ans bigger titan variants all the way up to Ordinatus and Imperator Titan on to the planet surface? Are they being assembled on the field or are there actually known transports large enough to deploy them? Olis
There's Titan Landers. Massive (and boxy) drop ships holding anywhere between single titans to demi-legios, judging by the fluff. Titanicus is worth reading and I believe they are mentioned in a short story in the Horus Heresy series. Cactus
The landers are essentially huge drop pods. I think one carrying an Imperator is described in Betrayer. Olis
Although I wouldn't discount the idea that some may operate as drop pods, I'm sure I've read about landers lifting off for orbit somewhere... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/306157-knight-and-titan-deployment/#findComment-4008833 Share on other sites
Politix
False Gods also gives a very detailed description of the Titan Landers and retrieval process. CommodusXIII
Honour to the Dead also describes the landers. They sound like being the equivalent in proportion and purpose to the Argus Lighter to a Guardsman, but vastly larger in scale.  Knights could probably use the same landers that the Munitorum uses to deploy superheavy tanks.  EDIT: Also, while I'm sure Ordinati have traveled from warzone to warzone in the past, they're generally built on a planet and stay on that planet. For example, Ordinatus Armageddon and Ordinatus Mars. Think of it like medieval siegecraft - attacking armies generally didn't drag catapults and siege towers around with them, but built them from nearby forests when attacking a fortification and recycled them afterwards. jeffersonian000
The new Skitarii codex mentions the Forge World Lucius as being the only Forge World left the can deploy its Titan Legion, the Legio Astorum, via teleportation. Makes me want to play Warp Runners. Â SJ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/306157-knight-and-titan-deployment/#findComment-4009097 Share on other sites

Though Ordinati are transported in the '... Of Mars' novels. So it does happen still sometimes. If the Archmagos has enough power and enough Hubris. CommodusXIII
Hence, why I said that they're generally built on a planet and stay on that planet. The first rule of 40K is that there's always an exception. Battybattybats
Good point CommodusXIIIHowever i notice a brief mention of transported Ordinatus in the novel Skitarius in the part i read before sleeping last night. This does make me suspect that there may perhaps be a new smaller and more common class of Ordinatus coming. Frater Cornelius
I am sure there are multiple sizes of Ordinatii. Same as with Titans. I imagine a Warhound is slightly easier to transport than an Imperator. Maybe we will get smaller scale Ordinatii on the actual table. Those ones that can be transported in a timely manner, that is. Battybattybats
Alas current Cult Mechanicus Codex rumours suggest no vehicles. So those wanting Ordinatus (Ordinati? Ordinatii? I'm unsure of the plural as alas and alack I never did get a chance to do Latin) will need to be rich and buy the one coming from Forgeworld it seems. Frater Cornelius
No big loss. I am not that much of a fan of vehicles on the table, unless it is a Drop Pod or an Imperial Knight.
