Plasma Obliterator in 500 point league

Starting to brainstorm for my next GW 40k escalation league (got some time) which flows from 500-2k points. I'm going to be running traitor guard. I've also converted my own Plasma Obliterator which I'm going to start off with at 500 point game. Theres a bonus 150 points which has to be speant on ONE character (I'm going to use a vindicaire assassin)

So far my list is as follows:

company command squad with master of ordinance and primaris psyker (for prescience)

veteran squad

veteran squad with 3 flamers

Plasma Obliterator with void shield

and thats 500 points.

First I can't remember whether the PO has battlements or not, but it is a medium building... so I think so? I would just have veterans man the building, CCS on roof with psyker, deploy flamer veterans and sniper on another close by objective.

I think my psyker on the roof can presience the squad in the building just in case i get a bad scatter on the cannon. Just focus the cannon, ordinance, and assassin on the most dangerous target at the time, then use flamers and heavy bolters on whoever is going for a charge. If I come up against a knight though its GG. Eventually I'm going to build upon this skeleton to spam veterans/blob (haven't decided. I'm using cultist models as my traitor guard and have 70 of them) and wyrdvane psykers to summon in daemons. Also after 1k points my shadowsword will come in.

I'm not really familiar with the plasma obliterator but it sounds like it may be OTT for 500pts? Especially for the points, it leaves the rest of your army forming around it which is a lot of eggs in a stationary basket - something I'm not sure you can afford at such low points.

Totally. My fluff for the league is that an Imperial bastion got corrupted by Nurgle with that good ol' slow plague to make the poor guardsmen fear death. Lets just say they failed their moral test. The survivors stationed within have converted a big Plague Cannon on top to drop some pestilential pie plates on the loyalists. Those who want to save their own skin can turn to Nurgle and swell the points of my army week by week.
