ThatOneMarshal
I have looked for simple green everywhere and cant find any. Where do you get yours? I would never think simple green would be hard to find. In California you can find it at cvs, Home Depot, Safeway, Walgreens, etc. I tried stripping my blood angels with LA's totally awsome and I ended up leaving it in the bucket for three months. Not all of the models were completely washed of the paint after scrubbing though. I'm going to try simple green. There's a huge bucket at my house. JGeils81
I dug out my purple power today in the garage(didn't even know I had any) and immersed the Rhino that I had soaked for a week in alcohol with no effect. 4 hours later I can see the paint just peeling away. Carrack
On plastic models, does simple green break down the super glue? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/306345-best-ways-to-strip-paint-from-minis/page/2/#findComment-4023658 Share on other sites
CommodusXIII
Not really, no. Might need something a little more heavy-duty, while still staying away from organics. I'm afraid I don't have much experience on this one. Carrack
On plastic models, does simple green break down the super glue? I've known it to do so, sometimes. Thanks. I'm going to strip a terminator lord I painted a while back when I really didn't know what I was doing painting wise. I do like how he is assembled however, but in the end, if I have to glue him up again it's not that big of a time investment. Scribe
I've not had it happen (and sometimes wish it would) when I use simple green. It takes the paint, but not the superglue. Stoic Raptor
I got an ultrasonic cleaner today and put a couple models in a bath of Simple Green. After 15 minutes in the cleaner, one of the magnets in the torso had come loose, so it does seem to break down super glue more easily. Likely a combination of the cleaner and the Simple Green together - but it's very effective at removing paint.
