Harrycane Posted April 19, 2015 Share Posted April 19, 2015 hi i'm new to warhammer 40 k and relatively new to the hobby (messed around with wfb as an early teen but didn't get too involved). Seeing as i recently acquired a camera and finised my first deathwing terminator squad (i want to have loads of deathwing stuff because they are awesome) I decided to start a little thread here so i could share the progress i make paint wise and army wise. Isiah Posted April 21, 2015 Share Posted April 21, 2015 Amazing models. Basing is awesome. Â But I do agree with Chaplain Lucifer's comment re Belial's sword. It looks more like a giant Ork cleaver. Â It's too wide plus it doesn't look like the typical DA type sword with their distinctive diamond-shape near the pointy end. Â I'm assuming it's wip :) Â Greenstuff modelling is excellent. Bryan Blaire Posted April 26, 2015 Share Posted April 26, 2015 I'll have to be the dissenter, unfortunately I feel like the huge wings are just way too much, along with the massive sword (and the winged guard). It's just too over the top for me. I don't mind the idea of wings, they display prominently on our Angel of Death figure, but they'd have to be much smaller for me to feel they make sense or not extended out like that. Also, too much fluttering cloth, the stuff wrapped around the storm bolter is part of where it goes into the "too far" realm for me. If it was all flowing as if moved by the same wind source, maybe it would make more sense to me, but it seems like it is all over the place with no one direction of movement. I always feel the need to make characters stand out, i changed the sword too because alot of people were kind enough to give their opinions. Now his sword looks alot better, i probably wouldn't of changed it if i had not made this post, so having others opinions is great and i think it will help my modelling in general to hear the advice and opinions of the unforgiven on these forums! I had a look at your dark angel successor chapter! they look amazing the free hand is incredible! I hope you won't mind me taking inspiration from some of your work =).
