I see the rumours are definitely floating out there about new, hybrid kit containing a new Knight for a rumoured new codex. I'll get one 'old' knight though for good measure. jeffersonian000 Posted April 27, 2015 Share Posted April 27, 2015 The "new Knight codex" rumor has merit, and mostly will be the codex we all expected yet didn't get with the current IK codex. We'll most likely get two more models based on a new kit (Crusader and Warden), FoC "roles" as seem in 30k, upgrades, options, etc.. Hopefully a ppm drop to match the new WraithKnight, given the WK appears to be 100ptd under costed compared to current IK point cost. Cheaper IKs means more models fielded means more models sold, and GW can at least understand that. Prot Posted April 27, 2015 Author Share Posted April 27, 2015 Yes see my suspicion elsewhere. Also known as "The Wraithknight needs a new dance partner". Forget rumours. GW loves to magic bullet everything that was yesterday's fashion... The Knight is coming to a Wraithknight dance party near you. I think about it like this; the flyer was difficult to sell to everybody so they had to make it part of the original force org. (For some it's a fast, for some a heavy, etc.) Then it eventually became common, for a time it was so strong... incredibly strong and lists were built around it. Now it's just another piece of the army isn't it? I think we'll get that way with the Knight as well as crazy as it sounds today. It will be very strong in some games, against certain match ups, but incredibly mediocre in others... To do this first GW has to make sure we NEED one. (IE: at about 300pts, a lot of Eldar are going to take this.) Step two, give a very lucrative answer to the bread and butter armies; the Imperium. So this is where I think Knights are definitely the answer and an opportunity for a new codex. The rumour I'm seeing most is a combined kilt for a new Knight. The sad thing about all of this is it is getting much, much, much harder for me to play multiple armies of the same faction. I can't have a Dark Angel Knight, an Ultramarine Knight, a Grey Knight Knight... (lol).
