Cronhour
Before with the old codex I used them as a turn one Fu to armour or with a priest and a Libby (invisibility) as a great distraction in the oppos deployment zone. In this codex though their expense has increased and it makes more sense (to me at least) to use the new cheaper up units as hammers with the pods as turn 1 distractions I'm prepared to lose to allow my DC and St into charge range. Currently I run with 2x 4 melts and 1x 4 flamer. It gives options and utility. The assault marines, with good positioning can make great IC killers as well, thin out the bubble around them before pumping st8 ap 1 shots into the Warlord or buff unit can be great against anything t4 non eternal warrior. Sure it's not what they're intended for but they've claimed significant infantry scalps in almost half the games I've played them in.
