nismogrendel
Hi everyone, I wanted to show the beginnings of my army. The camo scheme is influenced from Metal Gear Solid 3. Snake wears an outfit called 'fire camo' which is very similar. These are the first minis I have ever "finished" (I still see a ton of touch up spots). I do think I need to work on thinning my paints out, any tips would be greatly appreciated! I'm noticing the grey camo stripes aren't showing up very well on my camera. Every black blob goes along with a grey blob... Group shot - Clockwise Company Commander Master of Ordnance Lasgun vet Lascannon vet team (working on the partner... single gunner for now) Plasma vet Company Commander Master of Ordnance My fluff: he receives airstrike coords over the Vox, he then tosses his bomb that direction (hence the 3d6 scatter). Lasgun Vet (Creepy Eyes) Terrified of being unarmed in close combat, so he carries a knife as well as an affixed bayonet. Lascannon Vet - Partner is MIA at the moment. Stylin in his shades Plasma Vet - many more of these to come Any critiques/tips are appreciated thanks for looking! Rev. Tiberius Jackhammer
Looking good, the 'Fire Camo' is a great mix of practical and Warhammer's typical bright colors. Maybe throw some flamer units/Hellhounds in - they start so many fires that fire camo's the best choice for them. What did you use to make the wall on the Lascannon base? (Sprue bits?) Emplacements are pretty fun to model. WarriorFish
I like the red camo too, good mix of colours and suits the basing which is also done well. The MGS influence is kind of obvious calling them Foxhound though :P Have you thought about a vehicle scheme for the fire camo? Emplacements are pretty fun to model. I like the idea of a flamer focused army, that is cool fluff. I do want to pick up a Hellhound down the road, but I've been sinking my spare cash into Chimeras and Wyverns lately. The Lascanon base is sprue cut up with side cutters. Took me a while to build the wall, but I was really happy with how it turned out. I should have measured a bit better because fitting a second guardsmen in there is kind of a tight fit. Still trying to figure out which pose I want to go with for his partner. I like the red camo too, good mix of colours and suits the basing which is also done well. The MGS influence is kind of obvious calling them Foxhound though Have you thought about a vehicle scheme for the fire camo? For the vehicles I was thinking grey or black hulls. I thought of doing the normal cadian camo paintjob with red/black/grey but I don't know how well that would turn out. Not sure if I have the skill to do that yet. My friend suggested I do the 3 vertical stripes paintjob. Where most of the model is one color, but the front corners of the treads have the vertical stripes. I could do red/black/grey there. Those 3 stripes would tie the look of the tanks to the troop's camo. Love the colour scheme on these! Makes me want to go and get me some Guardsmen... Get some! Get a command squad, that sprue has all the fun bits Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/306446-astra-militarum-foxhound-urban-assault-division/#findComment-4015792 Share on other sites

nismogrendel
Finished a few more troops. Got a meltagun, sniper, 2x catachan lasguns, and a flamer finished. Once I get an entire army painted to this standard, I'll probably try to go thru and pick out some details/highlights I missed. Working on a batch of 4 more guardsmen and a commander/commisar next.
