History:

 

Most of the Legios history is hidden or destroyed, blank data stacks and archives where their information used to be, or never was, remains in the deepest darkest archives. Considered by some to be hereteks and blasphemers. What can be gleamed from the recovered data, was kept secret from all except the inner circle of forge world Gryphonne IV, lost forever due to the recent destruction of the world at the hands of the Hive Fleet Leviathan. During the great Crusade, the Fabricator General, whose name has been scrubbed from all records due to being found guilty of the uttermost highest form of tech heresy and blasphemy, founded a small legio. From the great Legio Gryphonicus, it was made made in secret, with the aim of uncovering the heresy and corruption that leaked through the mechanicus Forgeworlds and cohorts. The Fabricator general, thought of by his peers insane and touched at the time, maybe knew a lot more than everyone would know. Drest Vacomagi was a magos prime of the Prefecture Magisterium. He was thought of as cold and calculating. His judgement just and he would pursue any slight whiff of heresy and would chase hereteks to the very edge of imperium space and beyond. Is success rate was nigh untouchable by any of his same stature. He was known to do anything in pursuit of judgement for those who had committed sin and heinous crimes. And so it was Drest, who had been chosen, to lead this legio. A legio of massive investigation into the corruption surround the adeptus mechanicus around Imperium space. Drest was handed this assignment. His first orders were to put together a very small legio force, being able to pick and choose who accompanied him, and who did not. Orders were sent in the uppermost secret by the Fabricator general, anything from squads to entire maniples were recalled to Gryphonne IV. They were remade, and re branded, their colors changed, but not for long. They were instructed to go deep undercover, to remain in their parent legios colors. By the time the legio was made and ready for justice, they were to late.

During Drest's remaking, and reconstruction, some scrap code had leaked or a more sinister way, into his processes. Ancient history from terra, had somehow found its way out of the archives and into Drest. It changed him slightly. It began with his legios colors changing to a deep solid blue, that moved to being finger painted on walls and his armor, and eventually code leaked through to his legio. His legio dabbing the blue paint on in circles and intricate patterns, similar to the woad paintings off old. When asked, it was to inspire fear in his enemy.

 

Titan Princep Galanan Uuthiol, was an old friend of Drest. Way back when they Tech-Adepts, they were separated and went to their separate divisions. Drests first and only choice was Galanan. He was the only princep he trusted. To be able to hold his honor but not die in vain glory honor. Galanan was above average in his classes, but certainly no the best. his reaver titan, "Cernunnos" mounted two arm mounted Gatling Blasters, with a twin laster destructor mounted on top of its carapace. Galanan preferred supporting troop assaults. Clearing a massive swathe through enemy front lines and protecting the flanks of advancing allies. The laser destructor was added after being inducted into his new legio being a line of defense against enemy titans.    

 

The fabricator general, unbeknownst to anyone but him, had been contacted, by a shady emissary. Who asked him a one and only question, before leaving. Either in paranoia or in his insanity, he knew it must be investigated. There were legios attached the that crusade, that needed investigating. He sent his final order to Drest.

 

 Istvaan III had risen up in revolt, and on the way there was the War Master Horus. The Fabricator general had pledged the secret legio disguised as their parents. They were a sent, under uttermost secret to the War Master, but they never made it to the rendezvous point. Either by fate, or by hidden hands, the legios ships had been halted by the warp. Unable to continue, they waited until their path was clear. Some time past, and by the time the warp had steadied, reports flew in of the Isstvan III atrocity, and the Space marine legions that were on their way to deal with the traitors. With no need for investigation into wether the enemy adeptus mechanicus units were hereteks, they needed to be purged. Knowing that the Legio Firebrands were riding alongside the Loyalist Legions, they recolored themselves, to pressed for time for clearances and order to be sent and received. Meeting at the rendezvous point, the extra ships were queried and questioned, but were welcomed. Drest's career had taught him many things, and to be deep undercover and slip past hard questions and be someone he truly wasn't, was a small taste of those things. And so he was in, his sights only set

I apologize before hand, as the command structure and organization of the Adeptus Mechanicus is so bloody confusing. Not to mention how they operate, in war, on a forgeworld etc So I'm bound to make mistakes.
