Total: 535

Take three of these for 1,605 and 6 of these backfield?

(Also, why are we holding that latest e-mail with any more weight than Brightstars?  The issue is still a badly worded rule, which I expect to be changed when the rules leave the playtest version...)

I honestly don't think you need more than 2 of these. 3 at the most.... plus there's the cost. Forgeworld is SO expensive to ship here, that would be the number one hold back.

Then again you can always take a predator and stick a bunch of coffee stir sticks in the front of it. lol

If theres anything an Imperial Player has in spades extra its probably Lascannons. Find an old Rhino Nobody wants and slap 4 of your Spare Lascannons in a Diamond pattern on the front and call it a day, imo :p

Now now, Forgeworld have completely changed the dynamic of our army.

Let us honour them by purchasing this wonderful new unit.

Trust me, If I can, I do purchase FW (if my 30k IF are anything to go by) but! Paying ~80$ Extra in Import Fees on a 250 Pound / 500$ Order...yeah..

I really like how they made this competitive with Lasdestroyer Rapier Batteries; thats what had me worried the most with this release.

Easy for you to say. You're in England! I have to worry about exchange from CDN (which right now I believe the emperor's used diapers are worth more by the pound) and then after shipping, there's the import duties / handling fees... it makes it really unattractive. Especially ordering one item, which makes it seem even less worthwhile.

This is why I wish GW would fast track handling Forgeworld at their stores.

A FELLOW CANADIAN!?! YOU KNOW MY PAIN!

Excellent news...

I think FW will take a massive request of this product

As usual. It's on a vehicle, and you'get get the bonuses to Armour Penetration, and the inabilty to Snap Shot.

I don't think Ordnance requires Blast.

Vehicles can fire Ordnance as Snap Shots as long as they aren't Blasts. It's in the vehicle rules.

It is in fact non clear if vehicles can snapfire non-template ordnance weapons as the RAW is broken. It kinda loops into itself as it specifies that ordnance weapons cannot shoot snap-shots at all and in the vehicle section it says that they can if another rule doesn't prevent them to which leads us back to the weapon section and so on...

It's also resolved against the strength of the side armour...

Non-vehicles can't fire ordnance weapons when they moved in the movement phase. When firing ordnance weapons vehicles can only snapfire other weapons. When rolling for armour penetration ordnance weapons use 2d6 and pick the highst die. Nothing about always using side armour when shooting with ordnance.

Indeed

"Vehicles & Ordnance Weapons
Unlike other units, vehicles can move and fire with Ordnance weapons. However, a
vehicle that fires an Ordnance weapon can only make Snap Shots with its other weapons
that turn. A vehicle that moved at Cruising Speed can still Snap Shoot Ordnance, but of
course, cannot fire any Ordnance weapon that cannot be fired as Snap Shots."

this states it clearly, when you move, yo can snapshot other weapons, if you move even more, you can snapshot ordnance... as they are not blast nor template type, you are able to snap.

GREAT

You are not moving with these tanks (Because of the extra shots) and no cruising speed, no snap shot.

It's such a badly written rule.

I'm not sure if I made myself clear. The vehicle most definitely can't overwatch ordnance weapons no matter if it moved or not. The rule is worded extremely bad but the point is that regardless of moving you could theoretically snapfire with ordnance weapons if there there wasn't the little part of "[...] cannot fire any Ordnance weapon that cannot be fired as Snap Shots". There is a rule that forbids snapfire with ordnance very clearly and it's in the ordnance weapons own rules where it states that "Ordnance weapons cannot fire Snap-Shots."

There you have it. Awful written rules but at the end of the day RAW won't let you fire any snap-shots whatsoever with ordnance weapons.

we are agree... we will never move the tank .. but if circumstances requires it. yo will able to shot 1 ordnance if you moved 6" or fire 1 snap ordnance if you move more than 6".

this part of the rule, allows it. :

A vehicle that moved at Cruising Speed can still Snap Shoot Ordnance, but of
course, cannot fire any Ordnance weapon that cannot be fired as Snap Shots (AKA : BLAST, HEAVY BLAST, APOCALYPTIC BLAST, TEMPLATE).

add ordnance weapons to that list as they cannot be fired as snap-shots as part of their rules. Read the weapons section under "ordnance weapons".

Either my english is so abyssmal that I can't express myself or you just don't read my posts.

That section you say is intended to non vehicle units.

vehicle units has other rules that overlap those

A vehicle that moved at Cruising Speed can still Snap Shoot Ordnance

That's the permission.

You don't move Cruising Speed, you don't snap shot Ordnance.

Totally get what you're saying, and I don't disagree with that either. :)
