Right so your Saboteur has a jump pack and venom spheres? There is no point in the spheres at all. Give him a power axe a Charnabal Sabre is garbage. I think the Warp Shunt Field is a bit much for what is supposed to be a disposable character.

 

Take Sniper on the Vet Tacticals and Heavy Bolters this way they can take down Monstorous Creatures by sheer weight of fire, with a 4+ to wound and a possibility of rending it's a amazing.

 

Get rid of the Lightning Claw on the Sargeant and change it to a power fist.

 

The Power Dagger is pretty pointless on the Apothecary a Power Sword would suit him better. Take the Augary Scanner too it's absolutely a must have.

 

The Vox is pointless and the extra armour on the dreadnought isn't going to do much good either.

 

One thing this list is lacking is transport.

I have to agree with PastelAvenger, but I'll explain it a bit more diplomatically:

 

The reason Venom Spheres aren't useful here is because they confer Hammer of Wrath, if you use the Jump Pack to get into combat then the Jump Pack already does that, making them redundant.

 

You don't want Charnabal Sabre's.  They're pretty bad overall even with the +1 Initiative boost because you're likely to get 1 unsaved rending wound (remember, there's plenty of invulnerable saves here) at most, then you're turned to paste by the opponents Power Fist/Thunder Hammer.

 

While Lightning Claws are good you don't want anything less than AP2 weapons on Sergeants and Praetors unless you have somebody else to take the inevitable challenge for them.  They're going to be challenged often by other characters wearing Artificer or Terminator Armour, so  if you have a power fist then not only do you wound easier but you negate any Feel No Pain from opposing Apothecary's.

 

Power Dagger's are absolutely pointless on their own, the purpose of them is to get an extra attack with another Specialist Weapon, otherwise you're far better off with a Power Sword for the Apothecary since he's not likely to be locked in a challenge and so can use it to mince 3+ armour.  I do disagree that the Augary Scanner is a must have at 1000 points though, higher than that sure, but here it's not going to help too much unless you're up against somebody who can pull off crazy tricks that you need it to stop (Alpha Legion, Raven Guard, Death Guard).

 

You want a Vox for deepstriking, and it doesn't look like you're going to be deepstriking anything (and by this setup I really don't think you'd want to either) and extra armour is almost never worth it on a Dreadnought, normally you'd only want it on transports to help move troops around and Dreadnoughts don't have that issue.

 

Finally you're footslogging it, Rhino's are very cheap so there shouldn't be a problem getting some even at this points level (you never want only one Rhino though).  If you're opponent has Bikes, Jetbikes or their own Transports they'll encircle you and take the majority of objectives.

Jump pack and venom spheres- d'oh! Didnt think about that one. I'll also look into switching out the charnarble sabre for an axe or some such.

 

pastelavenger- no offense taken brother, Age of darkness is pretty new to me, so all the help is appreciated!

 

I plan to run Dynat instead of a praetor, take out the nuncios, and change up the power daggers to match better.

 

I do plan on having the lightning claw/powerknife sarg with dynat, and since he'll be taking the challenges, the sarge can churn up some power armor boys? or is that dumb...

Back with another list, this time at 1600 pts. Fixed up some problems in the list you guys pointed out.

 

I left venom spheres on the jump sabatuer, mainly because that way he still gets HoW even after moving 12. I rarely get close enough to a unit to use the jump for assault.

Hey mate the list is definitely getting there however I would make the vets either have 2 heavy Bolters or 2 Meltaguns mixing special weapons doesn't really work due to the difference in ranges. Also sniper doesn't really benefit Meltaguns at all so it's pretty wasted on them.

 

I would probably change the plasma blaster for a Graviton Gun so you can threaten armour a bit more as well as troops and with the 5pts saved pick up a Powerfist on the Vet Sargeant.

 

My only real concern is the dreadnought being left behind by the rest of the army (I'm assuming you're taking infiltrate as you haven't mentioned your mutable tactics) and being picked off by outflankers/deep strikers.

 

Main thing is though get some games and let us know how you've done!

In my own limited experience.

 

Too many HQs and not enough bodies on the table. Pride is great but your going to feel every unit lost.

 

Maybe some tracked armour. Sicaran is points wise cheap and can be devastating. Whirlwind scorpius will mince power armour blobs with s8 ap3.
