Wysiwyg Query

I just sort of wanted to ask the frater a question about this, not entirely sure if I've put this in the right section but still....

Basically, I wanted to get a few opinions on the possibility of counting Lightning claws as a power sword or something, as I've recently gotten some assault marines for my SoH that I wished to use as Reavers with jump packs, however I'm in love with the MkII/III lightning claws and want to use them and Reavers can't have claws.

What does everyone think about the viability of such an option?

Consistency is key, if EVERY Lightning Claws in you're army are counts-as Power Swords, then it shouldn't be an issue. Having said that though, I'd still expect you'll have issues at a Tournament, but at home with friends or your local with regulars, as long as you're clear and they know before the match, should be all good.

Cheers,

Jono

I think Grotsmasha hits the nail on the proverbial head: if it's really clear, and you outline that to your opponent - chances are, there wouldn't be an issue. Rule of cool, and all that. In a tournament setting, or competitive game, it might be more difficult. That said, as long as all your Lightning Claws were Power Swords, I think it's less of an issue. Consistency and explanation are your two best bets here.

I'd have no issue if you told me in advance :)

Reavers CAN'T have LCs, so there is no issue with putting the LC on the model. It cannot possibly ever be misconstrued as having LC rules if both you and your opponent are aware of this limitation.

Same way you can put chainaxes on vanilla marines instead of chainswords or knives.
